The math on these discounts is as follows

$150 + $30 = $180
$150 / $180 = .8333, which means we're paying 83.33%, which means the discount is 16.67%. Hence the earlier comment rounded it up to 17%.

I bought one of these about 6 months ago... same deal... buy a GC and get another one free... but... they never gave me the bonus card. I canceled the entire transaction and had to fight with them for several weeks. I'll try one more time and see how it goes.

Most of the cb sites put in their fine print that they don't give cb on gift cards.

Discover is not accepted on their site. Moreover, the checkout is from a site different from lowes'.

Somewhat true, but Lowe's has limited the military discount more and more...anything that is "on sale" is off limits and also materials like lumber, wire, etc....very limited these days.
