Most of the recent reviews state it falls apart, stops working quickly, uses special battery that doesn't last long, etc. Hard pass for me.

Thank you OP, all of us need one of these :-)

Boy, I hate to thread-crap, but I've had three of these (and several other brands). They all work pretty much the same, and leave a lot to be desired.

Then I was turned on to this one

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

and it out-performs any I ever tried over 50 years.
Sorry :-(

Wow basically all of the reviews in 2024 are bad. I wonder if they changed the parts and cheaped out on them.

Thanks, you're right. I thought it was $10.99, but I checked the CCC price chart and $11.99 is apparently the lowest price ever. $11.99 would be the correct price.

Hey, I'm going to agree with you on the Conair (I own both). So, yes, the Conair's conical head design is absolutely the best. Here's the use case for the Panasonic version, though. The Conair is noisier, so for those using to trim ear hair... the quieter Panasonic may be a better choice. Also, the Panasonic is water-tight, so you can use it in the shower. I don't believe the Conair is even IP rated, let alone waterproof. Finally, the Panasonic is about 20% cheaper than that Conair right now.

i have a manual one with this rotary shape and it can pull. i would hate to have an electric one, if it pulls then youre also dealing with the motor - ouch. has anyone tried another (not rotary, more like a jig saw style or foil style) design of these that is pull safe?

I'm not gonna refute the other statements, but "uses a special battery" seems incorrect. It uses a single AAA battery. I have this and I use it for vacations, so I can't attest to its longevity/durability but I know it uses a regular AAA battery.

I have the same experience. ConairMan works better overall. On the other handl, ConairMan's design of the power control is not that great and it can get easily rusty, which forced me to buy another one recently.
