Most of the recent reviews state it falls apart, stops working quickly, uses special battery that doesn't last long, etc. Hard pass for me.

Thank you OP, all of us need one of these :-)

Boy, I hate to thread-crap, but I've had three of these (and several other brands). They all work pretty much the same, and leave a lot to be desired.

Then I was turned on to this one

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

and it out-performs any I ever tried over 50 years.
Sorry :-(

Wow basically all of the reviews in 2024 are bad. I wonder if they changed the parts and cheaped out on them.

Ultimate slickdeal, wait till nose hair grows long enough that you grab like 10 of them. Then yank it all out. You might cry but that's OK.

Another vote for the Conair, here. I used various Panasonic models for decades and thought they were decent but after switching to the Conair, I'll never go back. The Conair is on another level entirely.

I vote for Conair. Had other brands, but Conair is still at the top.

Conair's (the one with the metal body) cuts better than Panasonic but the build quality isn't necessarily better even though it feels sturdier. As others have stated the way you turn on the Conair tends to fail after a year.

Had one for 10 years, never had a problem. Does not need special battery unless you think a AAA battery is "special."

Had this. It was ok but I got the Remington NE3845A and it is way better for about the same price. The battery last long and I don't have to be too invasive. LOL

I'm not gonna refute the other statements, but "uses a special battery" seems incorrect. It uses a single AAA battery. I have this and I use it for vacations, so I can't attest to its longevity/durability but I know it uses a regular AAA battery.
I had this exact product. It stopped working out of blue a month ago for no apparent reason. It worked well while it lasted though.
