Is the memory soldered or can it be upgraded?

Thank you, Randall

Update - Specs at Newegg show four memory slots with only two used. Even if the first two have soldered memory, two more are available for upgrade.

AFAIk memory is only soldered on laptops.
I don't think they even make desktop systems with soldered memory.

Isn't it comparable to a PS5? Paired the right monitor, this is a decent gaming PC. Just not amazing value.

If you're just going off raw power, it's a little above the PS5. However, considering that games are usually better optimized on the PS5, the PS5 will still win in most situations. For instance, The Last of Part 1 remake runs great on the PS5, while PCs with 8GB GPUs have struggled with it.

PS5 equivalent is a little weaker than the 3060.

TLoU is just a bad port. Also you're ignoring that almost every modern AAA PC game has AI upscaling, either DLSS, XeSS or FSR if youre desperate. So PC ends up punching above its weight class now.

Agreed. Very solid minus that small upgrade. Its sad many other deals are the opposite (better gpu but downgraded everything else).

Anyone know what brand of SSD is being used? If cheapo, could be risky if crashes.

lol don't give the desktop industry any ideas to start soldering memory to lock people in to fixed ram that would be wild

Never underestimate the power of Apple to remove features.

Even if you have the high ground.

I would buy now if it had a 7800XT for that price.

I bought one similar to this with 12th gen and a 3060. All MSI parts and the cheapest ones possible. That ended up being disappointing.

Mine came with an F sku processor (no igpu), a b660 mobo that could overclock but the cpu won't. Weak, off brand power supply, a gen 3 drive in a gen 4 slot under the cpu cooler and gpu, requiring removing both. And then the other nvme slot is under the gpu, so a longer 3 fan gpu and a gen 4 drive with heatsink won't fit. Cable management was okay. The cost savings vs using a z690, a gen 4 drive and so forth would have been mid double digit $$. Nice for MSI, not so much for the customer.

And people complain about alienware desktops. Those have far better parts in them.
