This is really only something you can answer, it depends on what You're going to do with it and your current strength and health level. I have been working out for years and still get regular use out of my lightest kettle bell which is 20lb, but as for using this as a starting point you can always try it and see if you need lighter or heavier, while only being $10 in. I'm not a doctor, I just play one on tv

My family are in the Midwest and this is not uncommon, especially for daily post routes where it gets very hot and not like a convenience store on every corner. My mom keeps a cooler if water, Gatorade etc out on the porch by the mailbox.
