I would attempt to make sure this works with the hoop you are trying to use it with. I have the Spalding portable "Beast" basketball hoop and this would not fit on it due to the size of the rim (rim on the beast is a pretty sturdy, wide towards the back connection to the backboard). Ended up just giving it to a neighborhood kid.
