It is similar to the A14 mkii, which is significantly better than the A14. It actually has a better DAC than the A14 mkii plus some other upgrades if you read through the specs. For $1k I don't think anything would touch this as an amp with sub and preouts with a newer, high end Saber DAC. For $2,500, there are better options, but for $1k? This is insane.

On a side note, many consider the A11 tribute and a11 mkii some of the best amps slightly under the 1k mark. This is a much higher end unit than the A11 models, which have a lot of reviews and comparisons to other amps. The S14 is a much better amp/Dac combo than those units.

That was the price for a couple of months at various AD, black only, for some reason.
Great price for a good amp from a reputable brand.

From my understanding, it's just an A14 with a streaming interface slapped on. The A14 is very well reviewed by the pros and sells for $1500.

I'm sure the streaming interface on this is mediocre, and I'd love HDMI, too. (Phono is irrelevant b/c anyone paying this much for an amp will use a dedicated preamp.) But, if you just want a quality integrated amplifier from a well respected brand, I think you could do worse than this.

Furthermore, with Apple users getting lossless audio streaming via Airplay in a few months with iOS 18 (I'm not sure about Chromecast/Android), I wouldn't even bother with the internal streaming on this. I'd buy it as an amp, stream from my phone, use the digital inputs for my computer, and the analog for a turntable.

Cool looking unit. I saw this yesterday and then an even higher end version on an audio forum I visit. What I don't understand is why this doesn't have any sort of advanced DSP or room correction if it's going to be directly streaming digital audio or acting like a DAC. Sure you can run a PC as a source and go wild with E-APO or Rephase or whatever, but why wouldn't it be onboard here?

I've owned this unit for about a year and a half now. I use it in my studio with a pair of Martin Logan monitors. The sound is excellent, but it's a bit underpowered, and if pushed, will get hot fast. At this price for a 2 channel integrated amp, it's a pretty good deal.

That MSRP is hilarious. Rotel is still a decent brand, but not what it was 20 years ago.

I have a Rotel stereo preamp that's over 30 years old and still working like a champ. They make some good canned tomatoes too.

This should be improvement over my Onkyo AVR for my Polk LsiM Bookshelfs. Worth a try and seems like great deal.

Thanks OP!
