So what you are saying is, not everyone would have a use for this, but someone might.

You should comment on every deal posted. That would be really SLICK.

What if you want more than what the particular case offers?

I actually bought this about 5 years ago and drilled it out for a custom application, hanging a U.2 drive below a 3.5" HDD. It would certainly be useful in an older case or if you were trying to max out your SSD storage with a bunch of SATA drives.

FYI any decent case should have SSD slots you can simply mount on to. And you don't need any of these since motherboards have a few SATA cables too.

Then one would consider this bracket. But it would have to actually fit somewhere on your particular case. It's worthless if there's no space to stick it in.

For example I have the M.2 drive slot. 2 x 2.5 ssd that just sits in front of the PSU behind front and below front panel fans.

That dual molex to SATA cable might be real handy for some of the 3.5inch hd's that need a pwr mod for your nas and you would still have the the other set to use in the pc as extra 2.5 inch bays to repurpose drives.

Especially proprietary cases like old Dells which never expected to see a 2.5" drive

That's kinda what I want to do. I have a Dell XPS 8950 setup as a Plex and Blue Iris server. I gave an old 500GB sold state 2.5" drive I bought that I thought would go into a laptop. Long story short, the size was wrong. Might as well use it for something

tbh this is for the ocd as it makes it harder to deal with drives. Ssd mounting matter so little that you can just leave them lose or use double sided tape/velcro anywhere they will fit.

Not sure how wanting to mount a hard drive different than the way you want equates to OCD.

Mounting hard drives used to have a purpose as they were fragile, now you can velcro or just tape the things if you bother attaching them at all, what's going to happen? Are you worried about a tornado throwing it across the state?

3.5" bays are an after thought now so its even harder to cram the drives in once you add the bracket .

His post is actually very relevant to someone who is new to building out a computer. Not everyone here has that experience. It's that kind of post that makes me appreciate this site.

On the flip side your post is just pure tomfoolery.

This is very nice!

Getting the cables is a plus deal. Then, here's with an extra bracket and two extra SATA cables for the same price ($6.99):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...DGEW&psc=1

But looking a bit more into this now, I didn't know it could be mounted using the expansion slots:

https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Mo...cs&sr=1-13

I am learning a lot just by reading this post.

Thank you all!
