Solid 'manga' and the anime adaptation is solid as well. Wish it was on vudu...might have to bite on apple though. Thanks op.

It is not a "manga" based but "webtoon" (web-cartoon) from Korea, which is based on web-novel.

That's why I used the quotes. I think it's technically called a manhwa (since it's Korean) but used the term manga since it's a more widely known term - to me anyway

Dubbed or subbed? I usually go subbed but I hear the dub is pretty good for this show. Wish it was $4.99 for both options lol.

So what is the reason you would ask this question?

This anime was fantastic right up until the final episode. Like so many tales, the real fascination is in the world building and the implications, not necessarily the main character. For whatever reason, I found the payoff for season one and the subsequent setup for season two to be so blasé. Excellent concepts and fight animation, but I'm left with no excitement or anticipation for Arise from the Shadow.

Will absolutely scope the live action though.

I don't know - I've read the entire Solo Leveling manwa and everything else, but did not like the whole thing overall. The premise stays the same. It's a tough year when JJK, Frieren, and Delicious in Dungeon knock things out of the park with originality.

As someone who tries to watch good anime whenever possible, it's interesting I've never seen Solo Leveling mentioned until now. The problem is everyone's tastes are different and I can't afford to blind buy everything at $5. As usual it's only available on the expensive anime series streaming which I don't have, so there's no way to sample a few episodes cheaply.

Too many animes are childish, like the Delicious in Dungeon you mentioned. I enjoy watching anime but I'm a 34 year old man so I usually drop childish ones pretty quickly which leaves me with only a few options. Solo Leveling was great for someone like me who wants less childish forced humor and more tension. Solo Leveling was the most popular anime during the time it was airing.

I expected this to be one of those background noise animes I just put on and half pay attention to but it ended up being decent. I'd recommend this one for $5 although I won't buy it when I can just stream it again whenever. It was surprisingly good and worth a watch.

You are right, everyone's tastes are different and I don't know your taste. But I can vouch that this isn't just garbage on par with a random filler arc.
