I've had both, they're very similar in taste. I prefer the dark roasts for both as my Keurig tends to wash out the flavor with Medium/Lights. You kinda get what you pay for, which is fine by me, I'm not looking for gourmet Jura type coffee in a k-cup.
Thanks OP and other poster, picked up Dark and French roasts for both Solimo and Happy Belly.

I find that generic pods (vs. for example Dunkin pods) have cheaper filters and tend to pass through fine coffee grounds, making that last sip or two unappetizing. can anyone who uses these pods confirm?

I haven't had any coffee ground issues with either brand here.

The only generic pods that I've found to be decent are the Kirkland ones from Costco (they have them on sale about every 3 months and come out to $.25 per pod).
I got a box of these on a Slickdeal. I'm not at all a coffee snob, but I thought the were nasty. Very weak and tasted salty. Just my impression of them.

I've used Solimo brand for years and never had an issue with coffee grounds passing through the filter.
It doesn't work this way. These brands belong to Amazon and we have no idea who is real producer for each brand or for each lot. Amazon started with Solimo and then switched to happy belly .
I used to buy solimo variety packs in the past but was not able to pick any good (for me) it's a flat or completely burn taste.
