I've had this machine for 6 months now and it rocks, but the lint filter is horrible. So much lint and dog hair get into the cooling coils and inside the machine. To remedy this BEFORE YOU EVER RUN A LOAD go buy the primary filter strip kit from homeguysolutions.com or make your own watching his YouTube if you don't wanna drop $50

also I got mine scratch and dent for $1800 all in

Got this in the Costco deal about 6 months ago and absolutely love it. So so convenient, saves energy. 2'20" for a load with "extra dry" on. We have toddlers and a baby and it's so nice to throw a dirty sheet/pajamas in before heading out and coming home to them being clean. No more, "Did you remember to put the clothes in the dryer?"

I don't trust any appliance Samsung manufactures. They always come with great features, only to break down months if not after a year or 2. Not worth it, I'd stick with GE.

The Lowes deal includes $200 discount, "free" install with purchase of install kit ($36) and a "free" pedestal. Also free haul away for Pros.
Free pedestal? I don't see that on the Lowe's site. How does that work?

I can't see why a family would buy this unless they buy two. Hopefully, they're washing weekly, not bi weekly or monthly because they will be washing all day. Yikes. Washing and drying something in separate machines is a huge convenience when you're doing loads of laundry.
I bought a Samsung and going to buy another one soon. 1 seems enough for us now. Not having to move the load is a lifestyle improvement

Samsung is known for their inability to service their appliances.
Funny thing is all I have are samsung washers and dryers, we average 1 load a day, the washer last us about 5-6 years.. dryer is a little more. I know how to fix the dryer, usually $5 part on amazon. On the washer the board goes bad. Motor rarely goes bad. The shocks on the washer deteriorates after 1000 cycles more depends on how imbalance your load is. If I get 1500+ cycles out of the washer I am good, buy a new one. The board and motor alone are $200 a piece so it doesn't make sense to fix it.
I do notice the 5.0+ size has a lot better beefier suspension system and a lot heavier than the 4.5 ft ones. Mechanically the bigger one is better but most of the time, its one of the switches/sensors or board goes bad on these appliances.
Stick with what you know, more sensors more potential for issues.

Sounds like you didn't know what you were buying or how to maintain it!

I just returned mine back to Home Depot a week ago. The fact that the unit requires only 120v, it takes forever to dry the clothes. I'll probably buy one again whenever they come out with a 220v model.

The point of this dryer is that it is a heatpump so it does not need 220V or a vent. A 220V resistive electric dryer will need a vent. This works like a dehumidifier rather than an oven. But yeah, higher dry times is typically why the heat pump dryer hasn't taken off in the US with our relatively cheap electricity prices.

The Samsung Bespoke version is better in just about every way, the clothes come out dry and the coil cleaner works better. The GE microban seals are the only thing it does better.
Its the same price also:

Seems that military discount doesn't apply with this deal. But you can buy thru the AAFES website for same price from HD to save on taxes.

Heat Pump dryers SUCK.
You realize the rest of the world has been using heat pump dryers over a decade and America simply is taking Ionger to catch up right?

You're quite misinformed my friend. 120V is perfectly fine for a heat pump dryer / washer all in one

If you have the LG app, you get alerted when the clothes are done. Plus, there's a feature to prevent the clothes from getting mildewed. What do you do if you need to put something in the washer while the clothes are drying¿ Doesn't waiting prolong your wash day¿ On top of that, these machines take longer to dry. I would recommend a washtower as an all in one unit to anyone reading this who does lots of laundry.
The new wash tower with heat pump dryer has had poor customer reviews such as manufacturer defects causing water leakage. I'd hold off for a long while before considering those units.

You had washer dryer combos, but you definitely didn't have a heat pump tech in 2005. They have only been a thing for the last handful of years. Just wanted to clarify for others.
Correct. The one without was not my favorite - it was built for an RV.
