That way all family members can use their phone to open and close.
The arguments of having a dedicated opener in your car and Hackers....to each their own I guess.
TLDR: I bought a set and have only been able to program one remote for one door. The amount of time I've wasted trying to get a pair of remotes to open a pair of adjacent doors is criminal.
Not sure what you meant by the 4 digit code. It sends the signal to the same terminals that the wall pushbutton is connected to.
I went this route mainly because my teens are aways gone without keys. The front door smart lock battery weak/fails and wouldn't open. Then the old school Battery keypad also quit working (and new battery + reprogram wouldn't work).

that said, most of newer ones don't use the dip switch, and rely on two way communications.
Scroll down to the compatability diagram near the bottom of the amazon listing to determine if this remote will work with your unit after verifying the frequency or color of the button on the unit.
If you know the frequency you could just amazon search other aestically, beter-looking remotes like ones that fit on a keyring.
These ones are pretty common on amazon. They're pretty cheap in quality but work. The clip always slides off, its not screwed on. Highly recommend you to superglue the clip if that's something you'll be using alot.
