It's not always about you.

There are many people who don't drive, can't drive, don't have a vehicle, or for some other reason can't or don't want to, or prefer not to shop physically in the store.

Instacart provides a service. It doesn't sell groceries or other physical items. The stores sell the items, Instacart shops for pickup and/or delivers. There's a cost to that which many of us are willing to pay either due to necessity, convenience, or simply because we want to.

Costco same day actually is Instacart. The difference is that the shopping platform is on Costco's same-day website and not on the Instacart website .

It is entirely separate. Any cart or order placed on one website is not available to view on the other. Any instacart gift cards applied to one or not available on the other. Delivery scheduling is also separate.

right, i have a hundred bucks stuck in sameday which does not transfer to instacart general website.

That's unfortunate. I posted previously in this thread that an Instacart gift card is only good on the website that you redeem it on.

If you have a Costco account you can use the $15 off $50 order deal that's currently available

I basically do the same thing. I don't tip by price. I tip by how far away the store is from my home and also by how many trips they'll have to make up my 100 ft sidewalk to deliver my order. I also add extra if I have deli items that they have to stand in line for or large dog food bags or other heavy items.

Thanks OP, with the bits of savings I figure it balances the fees they add and it's sort of a wash. But... it saves me from going out in this heat for groceries this weekend. The tip is justified for that convenience. Wish I was able to edit the tip in the page.. $5 is not enough IMO. With them not knowing I am plumping it up with cash on delivery I just hope they chose items well and not begrudgingly seeing the small tip that was auto added.

Check instacart account may offing $20 off. I used $59 instcart gift and $20 Chase CC and received $10.

The $15 monthly credit when using the chase sapphire reserve credit card is available only when the order is placed via Instacart.com only. There is no credit when the credit card is used for an order on sameday.costco.com.
