The Costco deal for $300 doesn't include the RC controller with the display, but the Amazon deal for $429 posted a few days ago does, as well as the extra propellers, etc.

Might be something I'm missing though as the original price on Amazon is listed as $549 but the one on DJI listed here is $609, but they seem to include the same stuff.

Never used a drone before. Looking to try it out first before I spend $400+
I found this one on amazon on a lighening deal [amazon.com] for $37 down from $100. You think it makes sense to start off with a cheaper one and get a feel for it?

I bought one similar from this brand, they have good customer service but quality and response from the drone is quite bad. Good for a toy to play around with no wind at all. HD280 that I own will continue fly away when it looses connection and that has resulted in having to jump fences and climbing trees. Again is a nice toy to learn but you get over it quickly.

This is the starter drone you want if you haven't used one. I started with the original mini and was super impressed by things like wind resistance, ability to fly in snow, and just how easy it was to not crash into shit but still fly fast. The cheap drones are going to give similar experiences, but you wont want to use any of the drone footage for anything and you won't really be able to fly it reliably. And honestly you wont enjoy a shitty drone, if you're going to make this a hobby for you and your family then you're gonna want to have a great experience right?

No. The "ban" is only applicable to future DJI drones and it also hasn't yet passed the Senate.

As someone already mentioned, the bill only applies to future sales... HOWEVER, it will absolutely affect existing DJI products as far as warranties (replacement parts & units), software and firmware updates, and services.
