This is insane, a steal for $1599. I bought it 10 days ago for $2149, will be requesting a price adj.

The unit itself is good, takes up less space than my 17 year old Samsung washer & gas dryer. Each load will take 4-5 hrs usually to complete but you can program it to run overnight to avoid the wait. Smartthings app will tell you when your wash is complete.

Costco is tough sometimes with price adjustments. They'd rather you bring the unit back and get a new one then adjust. Not sure if it's same with appliances but I had to do it with a tv.
Depends on the manager. If they won't adjust try again and tell them you'll be returning the unit (that costs them) if they don't adjust.

Yale Appliance has a great blog and they put out this one about the GE, LG and Samsung units. https://blog.yaleappliance.com/ge...ers-dryers
Long story short: the Samsung will fail. It lets lint through the trap. These are generation 1 of something likely to get much better over time. The price plummeting matches that these are going to fail.

Keep in mind... The extended "warranty" sold by Costco includes language stating the warranty does not cover damage caused by "accumulation of any kind."

I had an attorney review the language. Accumulated lint in the heat pump would not be covered.

I believe there's also language stating they can refund your extended warranty in full of they cannot provide repair service down the line.

So they have another way of getting out of paying.

Read the fine print. 😬

Yes, thus is a totally different thing. Someone who buys this is buying it for different other reasons, also, such as uses less energy and no need to transfer loads from washer to dryer.
Does a wash + dry cycle with this actually use less energy than a conventional electric washer + dryer cycle, considering this one needs to be running 2-3x longer?

I have a small camp in the middle of no where and was looking into one of these for a 450/sqft 1b/1b cabin.

How is the noise level on this? Would the noise level be to high to use in the same room while sleeping?

Any issues with like heat/humidity?

Anything else to be concerned with?

It would only be for towels / bedding (Sheets) and maybe a weekends worth of clothing for 2 people at a time.

I was thinking of building a little laundry room on my deck with a stackable washer/dryer but something like this is a faster cheaper option.

Thanks!
It's not louder than the previous washer I replaced, obviously when it's washing there's all the washing sounds so it's not completely quiet. During the heat pump dry phase, it sounds like a refrigerator. About 3 feet above I measured it as 45dB, but YMMW in how annoying people find the sound. During drying the machine does get warm to the touch, you can view it as a 600W heater. It's ventless, so no humidity issues, the water from the wet clothes is captured and sent down the drain.

Much less. My previous electric clothes dryer uses over 4kWH to dry the clothes, with this one it used 1.5kWH. An electric clothes dryer can easily pull over 6kW when running, this unit draws around 600W-700W.

Energy usage for wash cycle comes out to be a wash. And this part of the cycle is not the energy hog anyways.

I had one of these style washer/dryers a long time ago. I loved it. Eventually it crapped out. Service repair guy said that I most likely overloaded it a lot (which was probably accurate) and imbalanced spinning ended up messing it up. Anyhow, just a warning to not put massive laundry loads into these.
Not the same type.
GE came out with the first of it's kind a little over a year.
LG released one in Jan and now Samsung.

This is correct.
I tested this out with my LG combo.
The entire complete cycle uses around 1-1.5 kwh.
A conventional dryer will use 4-5kwh by itself.
A typical washer does not use much energy at all.

Anyone know if the $120 extended warranty is considered part of the next tier discount to get to $2500 and $600 off the total?

That is: adding this ($2000), the Allstate warranty ($120), and another $380 qualifying item.

I can't try it since I already placed an order but would cancel it if it would work.

Also, if you cancel the order, can you 'reclaim' the Spend and Save coupon since it's limited to one per membership?

I have a washer / dryer that have quite a few years left. It's interesting that this space is starting to get real traction. ( Years back, the combo units took forever and weren't realistic for most people. ) I'll check back in when it's time and see how much progress has been made.

I bought this on May 15th. Is Costco flexible about the 30 day price adjustment policy?
They once refused to price adjust a tv after 30 days, told them will go home, take it off the wall, return it and buy a new one. Within a few minutes a manager approved the adjustment

Do research, don't just go with blanket statements. Simple machines with less features are always going to be more reliable. Samsung doesn't really make many builder grade no frills appliances. Also they sell a lot of units. Even if it's more likely to fail a 5% vs a 2% chance of failure of another brand, might be worth saving $100
