The multitool kit is a great deal, in my opinion. However, it's been at that price ($99) with free shipping for quite some time. HD seems to be out of stock, but Lowes still has them[lowes.com] without needing to spend up to $175 to get free shipping.

Same prices as a bunch of the other stores, its a 4th of July promo Dewalt is letting all their sellers run.
I wouldn't buy the multitool, even though its a good deal. I suspect its getting discontinued, there have been a handful of deals on it lately. And for good reason, as I mentioned in another thread, this is a really old design. The milwaukee fuel version, which I replaced my dewalt one for, easily cuts 3x faster. Thats a huge deal. Multitools are slow complared to every other cutting tool and prone to overheating blades. Faster cut time means more blade life (from less heat) and less dust in your face, its a game changer.

That's a good point. I also switched my DeWalt (DCS355-the same as this one but without the speed selector) for a Milwaukee FUEL. In my case I went for the M12 version. For me, the biggest upgrade was the lower vibration of the Milwaukee, reducing the risk of slipping especially when starting a cut. The other thing I find interesting is the DeWalt is designed ergonomically for you to hold it like an angle grinder. I almost always hold a multitool with two hands, close to the blade with my main grip in the opposite direction (more like how you hold a trim router).
That being said, if you are on the DeWalt platform and don't want to expand into M18 or M12, I still think this is a good buy at $99.
I've been thinking of picking up a light duty cordless angle grinder and leave heavier work to the corded I have. The basic brushed models seems to be on sale about $100 every time I look, so that's not a big deal. But to add a 5ah battery on top of that - I'm in for one since I'm needing me a new battery anyway.
So was $100+ship for DCG412B and a 5Ah DCB205 seems pretty good. Maybe other stores are doing the same... amazon didn't mention the battery, but had same price on tool.
Not sure why nobody talking about the recip saw deal. It's the best 1 from a value standpoint. Recip, 8ah,5ah powerstack, recip blades and charger for 255. The recip with the 8ah is on sale at lowes for 249 which is a discount. For an extra $6 your getting a 5ah powerstack and recip blades
