No less than it tells drivers to stop parking in the bike lane or that they still need to pass with 3 feet regardless of a bike lane.

Most car drivers are too dumb to realize this. A bicyclist needs to position in the bike lane to account sometimes for road debris, glass, rocks etc on bike lane or part of it.
Also when bikers go too much to the right side of lane, cars will pass so close to you like you don't exist and will run them off the road. For such dumbness, cyclists will position such that idiots don't pass them when its not safe for them (bicyclist). So stop being petty and show concern for others safety shake head.

Buying a unit without the light attached (which can change flash patterns to alert drivers, and explicitly let you know when the unit is dead by turning off) seems a bit pointless.

Depending on the mount location you could get up to an extra 16mm of rear wheel clearance. I've tagged my RVR515 on my rear tire many times on various MTBs so any extra clearance couldn't hurt.

Every bicyclist should have one. These radars are amazing and actually work. Great peace of mind when you know whats coming up behind you. Definitely get the version with the light though.

I've had mine for 3 years now and it has never once missed a car. That's exactly how I use mine, ride in the center of the road till it tells me a car is approaching. Is safer for everyone that way.

No less than it tells drivers to stop parking in the bike lane or that they still need to pass with 3 feet regardless of a bike lane.

I disagree, I have this unit and use it with my iPhone Cycling App which shows the remaining battery. I like the lights I have and didn't want an all in one point of failure.

I'm wondering how the battery life is on this. I have the lighted version and after a long ride, 9 hours, it was dead and I had to ride home taillight and radar less. Will need to start carrying s spare taillight on those longer days.
