Been waiting for a deal on this. No store near me / no car so in store isn't an option. Is this my best option?
I'd probably say yes, although the Best Buy deal still wins if you open their CC and get 10% off.

This is almost identical to the bestbuy price + tax. These don't come with stands right? I don't plan on wall mounting for now
correct. you'd have to buy like a universal stand mount as it doesn't come with traditional legs

The G series LG OLEDs are intended to be wall mounted. They're a uniform super thin thickness and the idea is that they blend in. If you're going to set your TV on a stand then you'd get the same picture quality but save a lot of money by getting an LG C series tv. With the cost savings you could jump up to a larger size!
Not exactly. G series is a bit brighter, is better at higher res sources, and comes with the 5 year panel warranty

That's correct. The Gallery Series is typically intended to be wall mounted. LG changed that stance in 2024 because you order the G4 with a stand or wall mount. Lastly you should be able to find a third party tabletop stand that supports the VESA pattern and weight of the G3.
G4 77 and 83 doesn't come with a stand I believe, only the smaller ones

I think you're confusing this with the C3. The G3 is a much better TV; it gets substantially brighter and has a 5 year panel warranty.

Too late Greentoe - I bought a 77" G4 direct from LG for the price you were previously stuck on for the G3. Better luck next time!

I wouldn't say it is "much better" when rtings says

They're both nearly identical, except that the G3 doesn't come with a stand, instead having a slim wall mount included in the box and a fully flat profile that allows the TV to be completely flat on the wall when wall mounted. In theory, the G3 can also get much brighter than the C3; however, in practice, you won't see much difference except in certain contexts, such as when bright white clouds are displayed.

I bought the C3 last week for $1399 when the G3 was $1699 (also from Greentoe). When I consider I need a desk mount for the G3 that will cost at least $50 for anything half decent, the difference wasn't worth it for me.

No, I was referring to the 77 g3 Best Buy deal from last week where you could order in store for 2279 + tax with free delivery. I went to my local store but it was out of stock in my area.

I also tried to score the 77 c3 on clearance at Sam's club last month but couldn't find any for 1499, only 1999.
Maybe this is my last chance for the G3

Lol I'm surprised to see a deal from GT here, they seem to be very hit-or-miss these days. Pretty much any other retailer has been beating them on the larger TV prices even when you include the tax break.
I've also found that the retailers on there are notorious for waiting out sales before responding to offers or outright ignoring the sales and responding to offers based off of MSRP.

Walmart had the 77" G3 for < $2800 twice this past Spring. I sent in an offer for $2750 the first time hoping to avoid taxes and got no responses until after the sale ended (a few days later). The second time I sent in $50 over the Walmart price (minus tax), linked the deal in the notes section and got a response pretty quickly… for $400 higher than my offer LOL. The deal included additional warranty and was still in stock for hours (maybe even longer) after they responded to my offer too

When the G4 went on sale in mid May, I offered a few hundred less than the current G4 price direct from LG for the 77" G3, hoping to get a deal on last year's model. The offer I got back was for more than I would've paid (after taxes) from the partner store, and that included mounting. Can't make this up

What's the best price on the G4 77" so far in comparison?
