If you plan to use it as an external hard drive. DON'T.
May I ask why?

Deals like this one really make me sad that the Microcenter near me closed down. Would make an excellent secondary drive or just to fill with older games as an archive.

It's a DRAMless drive, and even NVMe SSDs that are DRAMless are still pretty nice because modern OS's support host memory buffer which can compensate for a lack of DRAM. But host memory buffer doesn't function for external drives.

Some companies may advertise on the web, or the local news channel. MC wants people in the store, so they sell some products with low margin or even at a lost, so they have you there. Once in the store not all products are cheap, and they may make their money back. They make you feel that you and them are part of a computer enthusiast team, and that we work together, helping each other. It is an interesting model.

Yeah, I got the 1TB TLC drive for $21.xx after the coupon. Looks like my store only had one left.

But certainly it's still better than a portable hdd or flash drive, no?
