These kinds of games also look to me like they'd be better off just staying 2D as smartphone games. What exactly, other than the initial novelty, does playing a word game with blocks like this in 3D/VR get you?

Darn it, with all the Quest game discount codes lately, my Quest 3 is now giving me the dreaded warning "Device storage is critically low, you have less the 500mb remaining". Now I have to figure out which games/apps I should uninstall. I wish Meta had a Quest3 256GB version.

I mean it's fun, but actually the controls end up being a bit annoying, since you need to rotate the word block at times to complete the puzzle. A bit annoying. But it's cheap...

Only thing I could think of would be elimination of distractions. Sometimes it's hard to concentrate in a busy house especially with kids running around

While it's not a uniquely VR oriented experience I think you are missing out on the fact that the Quest is kind of a gaming platform that people can do all sorts of things on. Watching Netflix isn't better or worse in VR but it is something some people like to do. This is the sort of game you could probably play in passthrough while watching some youtube or whatever.

Not saying it's a great game by any stretch, just that as the quest market grows there's room for apps like this.
