Can they be hooked up to solar panels? Would like to heat and cool the basement with an ac and heater and use it for power and swap units outside each time ?

my new dual inverter window ac uses little to no electricity and has power monitored on the app.

1kwh a day or so.
you can't swap these out quickly, the extra battery needs the main unit to work. at most you would either need really long solar panel cords or you won't be solar charging while using.

how many of these to run an standard AC unit for 8 hours ?
i don't have this unit but have a similar one with 1000 capacity. my window AC uses on average something like 300-400w (it constantly fluctuates). real world usage = 2.5 hours. that's with an efficient window ac.... so basically not long. you will need to charge it with solar if you want to make it free. i have a 400w but realistically the panel gets about 280w. so if you're willing to use the AC for an hour and then turn it off for about 30 mins to let the unit charge you can keep the unit at around 80-90% capacity.

thanks man - this helps - might be worth getting a smaller AC for a single room then

Standard being a central AC? Your going to need to buy this a few times over for 8 hours of 3 ton AC. Minisplit AC use less, and window AC the least. A 3 ton AC uses 4 of these batteries per hour.
A window unit like a midea inverter would be using about 70% of one of the batteries per hour, so you would need essentially 3-4 of these deals to cover 8 hours

Of course all of this depends on ambient temperature outside.
The real question is how long that AC will be running in that 8 hours and if the battery can provide the wattage to run it. I think these give 1800W and a 2700W peak which might not be enough to even get a central AC to start. They'd probably need the Delta Pro to do it.

This battery with the extra battery total 1024wh? Thats really only 85 amp hours. A car battery is usually only 100ah for comparison. Not going to power all that much for very long. 100ah LiFePO4 battery can be had for about $200-$250 but this looks nicer
That $200 LFP battery does not come with a fast AC charger, solar MPPT charger, or 1800 watt 120v inverter. Once you add all that in the price is comparable in a less elegant package. The DIY LFP battery setup only makes sense if you don't need at least one of the above components.

Overkill to buy one of these as a giant UPS for my sump pump?

I expect actually running the pump constantly it would not hold out long being a 1hp - rated 10A pump, but since It usually does not run constantly might buy 4-6 hours of coverage in a power outage.
You get about 13-15 amp-hours of 120v power out of these batteries assuming 80-90% DC-AC efficiency. That would only allow your pump to run for 1.5 hours continuously. Whether or not it will last 4-6 hours depends on how long your pump actually runs for.

Not a problem. And that's exactly what I'm doing. I have central cooling/heating but I bought a cheap and efficient window AC. There's the initial startup cost in the battery + cables + solar panel but if you plan accordingly and allow it some time to recharge you can reasonably cool a room for free. it will take some time (years) for you to recoup your money though but that math needs to be done individually.

Was cheaper last month with the memorial day sale active and SPRING150 code active. Paid $905 including taxes. Currently $929 with taxes. Maybe they will drop the price with a 4th of July sale

I think you would need many extenders to do that. It would be too expensive with these

Thanks

Which means if you buy this unit, you should buy another 1kwh unit (extra battery, extra Delta 2, whateer) bringing your total battery purchase to the 3KWH mark so you can do the tax rebate of 30%. Basically the math usually works out to "if you would buy 2kwhs total, you should buy 3 as it's basically free after the tax rebate".

These are strictly to keep your Wi-Fi on and charge your tablet during natural disasters.
If you are careful, the extra battery will provide you with coffee pot access and keep your Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla creamer cold, longer.
Other uses are up to each individual person.
That depends on your needs and what you're trying to accomplish. Many of us use this unit in conjunction with a generator.

I have this exact setup and a couple of hundred 160 watt solar panels. These are excellent to use at night to power your refrigerator and freezer. It would give your generator a break. And take away the need to run a loud generator in the night. Even a small Generator can charge this unit up in a couple hours as well, In case you're unable to get enough solar charge.

As far as running this to power heaters or a furnace, Forget it. Much better to power I heat source With propane. Or better yet a good old fashioned wood burning stove or fireplace.

You can always add a soft starter to the AC to eliminate that issue. They cost around $400-500. Just need to add/move a couple wires to the capacitor. Box is waterproof that your installing.

Super excited about V2G FINALLY actually hitting. I feel like Tesla has intentionally slow rolled it because of power walls. There is no reason for any non leaf EV to not have this ability.
