That's false. I sold a 3 year old CRG9 for $500.

Buyer beware - the ultrawide G9 monitors fail a lot.

TONS of threads about them breaking. 2 of my coworkers have them. Both have had them break randomly. One guy has had his replaced TWICE under warranty.

The screen is bent just a bit too much from the factory and it will randomly crack down the middle.

Monitor resale value is terrible. For no reason. I have seen tons of $1000+ monitors selling for $200 or so and never really selling.

Used monitors are great. I've managed IT environments with thousands of monitors and I've seen zero of them stop working.

Monitors and tv depreciate crazy quick. I got my miniled 4k 144hz viewsonic with a full fat gsync module for $500 new 2 years ago and it was the king of the hill then. It was $2000+.

These 240hz oled will go down the same way after early adopters got them. As soon as less known brand get them like innocn etc….

I just want one with a a gsync module and native reflex. I will wait

I've had mine since October. When it works it's just flat out amazing. First problem I had was the 240hz would make my screen flicker. Backed it down to 120hz and that issue went away. And then one day the monitor just wouldn't turn on...it has power, the rear rainbow light turns on, but absolutely nothing but black on the screen. The menu button sounds work; so it's on, just nothing displayed. And about 4" of the screen itself popped slightly out of the bezel on the bottom right side. Waiting on Samsung to repair/replace.

That's a tremendous shame that pbp doesn't work because that's a show stopper for me.
PBP works beautifully I use it everyday for work thru a Dell wd22tb4 dock.

There is a lot of confusion between the Odessey G9 (non OLED and Samsung OLED G9. Confusing naming aside. The Odessey G9 (non OLED) has been very prone to cracking. The OLED G9 has not had this wide spread issue. However.. YMMV. That's said. As the previous poster mentioned there have been ALOT of quality control issues. Not turning on, black screens, flicker, they are very picky with cables, so make sure you have quality 8k full bandwidth cables and as an owner of the G9 OLED from a past $729 deal. Do NOT buy this monitor without adding the extended Samsung warranty, if you plan on keeping it past the factory warranty. It's a sight to behold if yours works!! and most do. keep in mind those that have issues post on reddit and elsewhere the 90 percent that don't wont. So be wise and At the price it's worth the risk if you cover your A $$. Lol Cheers!

Anyone comparing a TV to a monitor is not in the market for this deal. I hope none of you buy electronics for your family on Christmas
Compare it to a C3 OLED from LG with 120Hz screen, low latency inputs, gaming mode, 4K, and HDR...

IIRC the fine print says 35 days after the return period is over. I'm on the same boat as you, gonna patiently wait for my GC

Just curious, are you able to get 5120x1440 240hz from your Dell dock. If yes, that would be great!

It's like, almost everyone who lives has a TV...
New TVs are bought when either the tv is old/stopped working or when people want to upgrade.
I always feel that such items are luxury and that drives purchase behaviors, people do not need most of such items...
That's probably why the resale on these suck..

Chiming in as I'm one of the G9 OLED owners, purchased Oct '23, and already has a failed unit (Saturday). I'm in the middle of a warranty ticket with Samsung, but both a coworker and I purchased last year when BBUY ran the markdown deal + free SSD (https://slickdeals.net/f/17018182-samsung-odyssey-oled-g9-49-curved-dual-qhd-neo-240hz-0-03ms-freesync-premium-pro-smart-gaming-monitor-with-hdr400-silver-1099-99), both of ours have failed differently.

For me, my G9 powers on, you can hear the TizenOS bootup chime, and I can hear app navigation from the remote but the backlight never comes on/black screen. For my coworker, his wouldn't boot up at all and he had the mainboard replaced under warranty.

Purchased this a year ago during a EPP promo. There were only a few issues that I ran into. There were a couple green pixels in the display which were fixed through a refresh etc. During the diagnosis process, the support team at Samsung was horrible, unprofessional and unhelpful. I wish this was a true 4k monitor.

I work and game on this monitor so it's typically running everyday for around 12 hours non-stop without issue.
