almost pulled the trigger, then realized 16" refers to the height instead of the diameter of the pots - too small for what I am looking for

These are tiny. They should have a banana for scale because the pictures are misleading.

I bought these and got them yesterday. They'll be perfect for my back patio.

Can I put a full-grown oak tree in these pots? No.

Can I put a normal amount of soil and some nice plants? Yes.

Sounds like a winner to me.

9 inch pot, you'd probably want 2 but then you need 1 more to get free shipping, so this deal is more like three 9" pots for $45 + tax.

Thanks for the post OP. These are really good. Got one 13 inches and two 9 inches Planters ($30
and $15 respectively).
Additionally there were quite a few more gardening and outdoor garden related stuff - pots, water hoses, gardening tools, fire pits etc - everything 50% off. Thanks

I bought these and they arrived two days ago and they're going right back to Target. They need better packing standards. My pots came scratched up and bent out of shape with dents everywhere. I don't think I've ever received a well-packed Target package. Might be worth picking these up in-store to prevent this.

Same thing happened to mine. The bottom cracked. Just go on your order history and place a return and take a picture to upload. They will give you refund in like 10 seconds and let you keep the items.
