I had missed out on Flip4 to Flip5 upgrade deal (and like folding phone despite its shortcomings) so figured upgrade will costs me around $200, not the best deal IMO but better than Flip4 with Care+ ( I am currently paying $9/mth and out-of-warranty)
Bonus: Add items up to $500 on mobile app to get extra $50 off, go to samsung.com on desktop, activate 15% C B. You can get Buds3 for about $50 more with Flip 6 upgrade.
Bonus: If trading in Flip5 you should see lower price.
I had ordered on 7/15 when I saw that for whatever reason, I was coming in at $40 cheaper than what I saw day 1. My additional discount method was via the EDU discount/Campus savings so originally I was at $380 and on 7/15 was down to $340 which is what I bit on.
But then today I saw a pop up from the Samsung Store app with additional discounts for a limited time and saw my new total would be $280. The Flip 5 wasn't getting any additional trade in, that's still locked at $650, but there were additional promo credits applied.
I tried to get customer service to just apply an additional discount but they said they couldn't. Instead they set me up with a shopping cart with the additional discounts put on and then cancelled my existing order.
Just had to do an additional manual step on my end where I pasted the link within an active cash back session and it seems to have worked. So that should be $40ish back when it posts - I already got the confirmation email on that.
I did the financing 0% so it's $30/month for me for a year.
Certain AMEX cards have a spend $1k, get 10k points back. But I don't see how that would work for this promo if anyone's doing a trade in because you're only going to get a charge on your AMEX card for a few hundred bucks.
That said, AMEX platinum has a benefit where if you pay your cell phone bill every month with the card, if any issues happen with the phone including theft or loss, they'll cover the cost. So that's the main way I'm getting protection there. In addition, I also opted for the T-mobile carrier version to get the free year of Care+
Wondering this too. I'm hoping going with a carrier just means you get their bloatware, but at least the phone isn't locked.
My only note here is that a few years ago when I first went to the Flip 3, I Was trading in a Pixel. But a lot of that discount came in the form of Bill Credits. But Google FI at least back then wouldn't work well with Apple iphone, including not being able to do Wi-fi calling. That made the rest of the family's iphones unusable so I had to go back to t-mobile. I believe those bill credits are still stuck with Google FI if they haven't already expired.
