Total game changer in terms of intervention. With the ones without one I had to empty it pretty much daily but did it for 3 vacuums. Kind of a pain.
Side note... avoid vacuums with poor third party support. My Samsung needs parts and no third party sells them. I'm forced to order through Samsung phone support directly because their website doesn't have any parts I need or if it does, costs a ton. Not worth the cheap initial cost I paid for it.
For somebody like me with no kids, pets, or carpeting, I would caution folks to consider whether auto-empty is the right choice.
I run my vacs (I have one on each level) 2-4 times/week and empty the bins no more than weekly, but when I do, I clean the filter and untangle things from the roller. Would it be nice to "set it and forget it" and empty them every couple of months? I don't know. These are mechanical items. When I pick up the vac, I sometimes find things tangled in the roller and side brush that prevent it from cleaning well and puts stress on the motor. Once the bottom popped off and the roller fell out and it kept running the schedule without a roller at all, just blowing dust around -- until I checked it, then found the brush under a piece of furniture.
Again, for those of you whose bin would fill up daily, I get it, but it's not that simple to me.

Auto-empty vacs prices have been reasonably trending downward. I'm hoping we'll see decent auto-empty Roborock vacs by the holidays at the same price point. Just speculation.
Prior poster also mentioned availability of replacement parts. This is valid. Xiaomi / Roborock vacs are easy to find parts for on Amazon or Aliexpress. I have a 360 S6 for another floor of my home and some ancient ILife dumbvac for the lower level. I've had to replace regular wear and tear items like Lithium batteries, beater bars/brushes, and filters. They've been going for 4-5 years now and still work well with the maintenance.

If anyone can answer this, can q7 perform well on black surfaces and another problem with my q5 is that it performs very poorly at the edges of these area rugs
