I wish they'd actually make sizeable improvements on these every model. I've had 6 Blink XT2s for 5-6 years and really like them for how simple they are. Grandfathered in from the original Blink days with no subscription plan. Change some batteries every year or so (or if they're far from my hub every 4 months or so) and pop it back onto the mount real quick. The Outdoor 4 is better at basically nothing other than IR lights and possibly battery life than the XT2.

So does any of this work with old blink accounts that are grandfathered into the no monthly fee? I don't need anymore cameras but if I can get the deal great. Not forfeiting my free plan though.

Pretty sure you revert back to the old free plan once you cancel paid membership.

Correct. I am grandfathered, Ordered, instantly got the 10% and cancelled 15mins later. Back to free storage as before.

But do the new cameras work with the grandfathered system? For some reason I thought any new cameras require the new paid plan. I was buying old XT2s off ebay.

XT2 cameras work like you had a subscription for everyone no matter when account was created. If you created account before April 2020 you are grandfathered in and all cameras work as if you had a subscription.

I clicked on the Trade in 20% and towards Security and it gave me $3.00 for my Firestick but when I go to the cart to check out it's not giving me the extra % off. Any idea why? Thanks for the help.

I'm having the same issue. The lady from Amazon customer service told me on the phone that because of the Prime Day deal, I can't use any other discount. I told her that she is misinformed, because two days ago I had both the Prime Day Deal and the 20% Trade-In Discount appear in my cart at checkout; however, I stopped my purchase. Today when I tried, the discount doesn't show up. I even deleted the pending trade-in and tried to re-instate it, but it still does not show up, even though it said it was giving a $5 gift card and a 20% discount.

So either Amazon's system is preventing the trade-in discount because of the prime day deal, or something else is wrong. Going to try a few things to see if I can get it to work again.

I am not getting 20% trading discount either. Wonder if anyone getting the same thing

Had/have same issue. Screen confirmed device trade-in but on final order submittal page, did not reflect 20% on order. Contacted CS and after much going back and forth and "investigation" was told "Thank you so much for waiting, upon checking here with my lead, the 20% will be applied once the item was already sent to us, and to inspect the product that you wanted to trade, so that's when they'll offer you the 20% discount". Not the best grammar but pretty unequivocal to me. Per UPS tracking, trade-in arrives at Amazon on Monday. I'll give them a reasonable time to respond with confirmation of 20%. When the credit doesn't appear (which it won't), will chat again with Amazon, offer to provide them a screenshot of the previous chat exchange and they will ultimately credit me with the stupid $26.

batteries are always iffy, even these lithium batteries. some say they didn't last long and others have no issues. we've had our first one for 8 months w/o any issues at all, including going through winter with it being outside. it varies though.

I have the previous version (v3), battery still strong after 3 years…. Crazy batteries
