I bought one last week marked as open box rated as Good by Best Buy. There is no warranty left as laptop has been used for over a year. Batterry is no longer at original capacity, pen and cover slip missing. I returned but after all the above, the Yoga 9i is still rated as good back in the shelf.

How is that possible? Best buy return policy is like 14 days. I would expect Open box laptops to be just 14 days old at max unless it is refurbished.

Yep, probably a floor model as they removed the display and no more new stock. I can see rubber feets worn and turned black. Battery had 3 cycles and I can see plug in time for more than a year. I heard higher cost membership can return after 15 days. Battery life is about 4+ hours watching Youtube and browsing the internet with heat reduced by running CPU 91% max. It has the best sound out of all the laptops i tested but not a big deal as I can link to other speakers. Less fingerprint smudges with that color but lighted keys harder to see when laying down. Latest model is lighter so I will wait for that to go down.

Open box is "new". Whatever abuse it may have taken in store, Best Buy, as an authorized dealer, sold it to you "new". You should be able to file a request with Lenovo, probably including receipt, and get your 1 year warranty.

Source: I do this occasionally, including with this line of laptop in 2021 and a tablet last month.
