Should be 32GB of RAM with a GPU like that. Not bad otherwise.

The 1080p screen is the bigger atrocity.

I keep seeing these dope deals pop up but with 1080p. Look I get high refresh rates are nice, 120hz to 144hz are good, but going above that gets to serious diminishing returns vs resolution

I think it's for esports, so resolution doesn't matter. You need highest hz for competitive gaming it seems.

Yeah but I don't think most will be using it as their primary screen when gaming, just on the go.

People buy gaming laptops to game on them, and the screen matters. Why is this concept so crazy to some of the users on this forum? I think it's much more rare for a laptop user to plug into an external display.

For sure but both scenarios exist is what I'm saying.I have 4 friends that I game online with who have gaming laptops + me, all 5 of us use external monitors. I'm not saying noone uses the built in screen, but in my circle at least we haven't relied on it so it's what I know.

That gets blown out of proportion. I would admittedly rather see 2560x1600 at 240hz, or even 165/170/180, but the reality is that pixel density at 17.3" with 1920x1080 isn't bad at all.
In any case, this is a pretty solid deal for a 4080 laptop, I would think.
