I bought this drive for my Synology NAS RAID. It is loud, but I don't mind the noise and the low price. You will definitely notice the noise if you have it around your desk. My NAS is elsewhere in the house so I have no problems with it.

If anyone purchased from the last couple of deals, how are the drives holding up so far?

Running any drive this large in a standalone fashion is playing with fire.

Thanks for this info. I ended up looking up the noise level on Youtube for comparison between other drives and this. It's definitely louder.

Bought 5 of these from Newegg and arrived on Monday (shipped directly goharddrive). Just installed them in my UGREEN 6 bay NAS and ran a quick Smart Test. All seem to be fine. Will likely keep one as a spare and set the other 4 up in a raid 5 array. Seemed noisy occasionally, but I have not used them intensively.

The first one I tried I ran a long smart test and it showed 1 uncorrectable sector...now does that mean it's heading towards failing and I need to return it for replacement?

I bought a couple of the $83 HGST Ultrastar 14 gb earlier. They haven't arrived yet, but I picked up the Wavlink USB to SATA dual drive bay adapter for $20. I'm past caring if they're pretty, as long as they work ok in it, and I don't know yet if they do, since they're in transit. Not sure if the Wavlink will work with macs.

When was this deal? 5yr warranty?

Are you talking 12TB for $83 HGST deal? Because I'm not seeing a 14TB deal at that price.

Hmmm.... Maybe I should run the long test on my drives. May be worth contacting the company and asking for an exchange.

I got one and returned. Crystal Report saw it worse than a bad sector.

Won't ship to an APO, bummer. eBay has them at $110, and they won't price match Frown

It looks like these only have a 90 day return or replacement period, correct? Or am I missing something?

Do these show the serial# in DSM? Or similar nas os? I got some from refurbs from another vendor a little while back and it shows no info, which makes it challenging when trying to ID and replace drives
