Are these really heavy duty ? I have 2 Costco heavy duty lifetime warranty 100 ft burst under the hot sun in the last 6 months. Meanwhile, those Sears black rubber one I got like 10 years ago still holding strong.

Beware of the aluminum coupling cold welding to your brass hose bib and unfortunately they aren't the only hose manufacturer pulling this bullshit lately. Their ad copy says brass female coupling, but product photo and customer reviews with photos would indicate otherwise.

Yep. Those were good times. Sears points mania let me score so many craftsman tools / hoses. I've had a hose in my MN backyard for almost 10 years. It still works like new (more grey than black now, though).

I did a pickup order, Lowes tried to sell me a returned hose that they clearly rolled and zip-tied themselves.

Unbelievable you mentioned the sears rubber hoses from about 10 years ago… I bought two of those off a slick deal, likely what your talking about, and one of them just ripped apart at the connection to the spicket. Both exposed to year round elements and they are without a doubt the best hoses I have ever found. Unfortunately that's why I'm here, to replace it, and I highly doubt anything but those rubber hoses will be of similar quality.

I have a 50ft and a 100ft rubber hose from over a decade ago still working like new after many winters and summers.

Can we buy these anymore? Anyone have a link to the OG rubber hoses that apparently are indestructible?
Check out the stores

You can't beat those black rubber hoses from Sears for durability. I don't even know how old mine is and use it all the time for watering the garden, but they will get stuck on a blade of grass, and don't even think you're gonna pull one around a tire while washing the car.

These do kink. If you pressurize them and then roll them up, I found that it kinks less. But that may be true for most hoses.

Not sure about OG but I think one of the better regarded modern hoses is continental rubber. I wasn't able to spend the $ , persoanlly
Can second this. Have purchased about 50 of these over the years for work and they are the best hands down. Not cheap by any means though

+1 for the Craftsman rubber hose that was sold at Sears. I think I also have had it for about 10 years sitting out in the sun. Longest lasting hose I've owned and it has never kinked on me. I wonder if they still make them.

I've had one of these for about 10 years. The only issue happened this year. I left it attached to a hose bib for about a year and it did seize to the hose bib. I was able to remove it with a wrench. I recommend these hoses with the caveat, don't leave them connected for lengthy periods. And thanks OP, I got a couple more!

Bought this last year and had a leak within a few months of light use. I returned and got a new one. The 2nd one has been great. YMMV

This is the truth!!! I used to buy these kink free from Lowe's all the time and after a couple years in the elements, it developed leaks. Before Sears went out of business I bought two rubber hoses 50 feet apiece and they are still going strong at about six years.

I would not recommend buying these hoses and leaving them outside in the elements if you want longevity out of them.

I use the Stainless-Steel Hose from Bionic, great anti-kinking and lightweight, but the water flow is severely limited since inner diameter was very small like a bit over a 5/16 drill bit and takes forever to water gardens. Had to switch it for a Flexzilla.

Some hose tips ….learn from my mistakes…

Purchased a Costco no kink years ago. Served me well and then the far end broke. Had a SUPER difficult time repairing it. The reason is they include an interior spine in the hose to keep it from kinking. That spine was blocking the repair kit from fitting in the hose. Challenging to remove that spine. I'd avoid hoses with the spine inside as it complicates hose repair.

I went with brass on the repair. Unfortunately, after spending all that extra time and grief due to that interior spine I lost focus and ended up putting the wrong type of end on the hose. Had to put on gender bender and now the hose is SUPER heavy at the end.

Watched a few YouTube hose repair videos and one with a hardware guy recommended using plastic parts as they are much lighter in weight and less likely to scratch a car. I agree.
