Are these really heavy duty ? I have 2 Costco heavy duty lifetime warranty 100 ft burst under the hot sun in the last 6 months. Meanwhile, those Sears black rubber one I got like 10 years ago still holding strong.

Beware of the aluminum coupling cold welding to your brass hose bib and unfortunately they aren't the only hose manufacturer pulling this bullshit lately. Their ad copy says brass female coupling, but product photo and customer reviews with photos would indicate otherwise.

Yep. Those were good times. Sears points mania let me score so many craftsman tools / hoses. I've had a hose in my MN backyard for almost 10 years. It still works like new (more grey than black now, though).

I have this hose. Probably gonna grab another as its pretty solid.

I'm using it for feeding a high pressure mister pump so it doesn't get much handling, but i remember it being much nicer than the dark green one from costco that's a POS.

beat those black rubber hoses
It rubs the lotion on the skin or else it gets the hose again!

Unbelievable you mentioned the sears rubber hoses from about 10 years ago… I bought two of those off a slick deal, likely what your talking about, and one of them just ripped apart at the connection to the spicket. Both exposed to year round elements and they are without a doubt the best hoses I have ever found. Unfortunately that's why I'm here, to replace it, and I highly doubt anything but those rubber hoses will be of similar quality.
If it's just the connector just buy a connector and a hose clamp...will be cheaper!

I feel like I've tried every single flavor of Apex's NeverKink hoses and every single one has kinked and eventually failed. BUT, their lifetime warranty process has been flawless and super easy to utilize. Because of this, I've continued to buy their hoses over the past 10ish years.

at 15 years the Sears brass male end will start splitting. then put on a plastic connector and get another 10 years of use

Some hose tips ….learn from my mistakes…

Purchased a Costco no kink years ago. Served me well and then the far end broke. Had a SUPER difficult time repairing it. The reason is they include an interior spine in the hose to keep it from kinking. That spine was blocking the repair kit from fitting in the hose. Challenging to remove that spine. I'd avoid hoses with the spine inside as it complicates hose repair.

I went with brass on the repair. Unfortunately, after spending all that extra time and grief due to that interior spine I lost focus and ended up putting the wrong type of end on the hose. Had to put on gender bender and now the hose is SUPER heavy at the end.

Watched a few YouTube hose repair videos and one with a hardware guy recommended using plastic parts as they are much lighter in weight and less likely to scratch a car. I agree.
I used a pair of long skinny pruning scissors to trim out the spine on a hose that had this issue.

its absolutely crazy that the demise of sears means we no longer can buy a good quality hose in store any more. Lowes, HD, walmart, all crap.
The only hose Ive found that looks beefy like the sears rubber hose are the rubber hoses that Dramm sells, but they're like 3x the price of hoses in stores
sears rubber hoses were a bit more than cheap hoses but not that crazy

I bought one of these 5 years ago when we moved into our current house and it's been working just fine. Used at least 100 times and no cracks or leaks whatsoever. But I don't store it outside 365 days a year like some of the people here apparently do. It only takes like 30 seconds to disconnect it, coil it up and toss it in the garage. C'mon, stop being lazy guys.
