I had an ASUS Q540 with very similar specs (same i9-13900H) but had upgradable RAM, 120Hz OLED screen, and a 3050 GPU and it was about this price when it was on sale back in FEB of this year (bought mine for around $600 open box at BB).
I probably would not consider this as there are better options out there for even less money.

These are the Plus features:
Live Captions (Can already do this without CoPilot Plus)
Paint Cocreator (Quality sucks)
Photos enhanced features: Restyle Image and Image creator (Quality sucks, use photoshop)
Recall (Delayed, many people dont want this)
Windows Studio Effects (full experience) (Webcam features, most are supported without Plus)
These are the Plus features:
There are only 2 problems:
1->Games that are not native to ARM are not working (and we are talking about AAA games not simple ones). None of the machines that dont have dedicated Graphics Card can do it even now.
2->Video editors - I am dead sure this is true for this laptop and any laptop with GC again. However, native apps are coming for most of these and would ideally resolve the issue
The gains are in battery life and efficiency and every YouTube review that is not from a b*tthurt Apple fanboy have praised and recommended those machines over current crop of Intel/AMDs - Check MobileTechReview, Dave2D, and some others.
So, unless you all of a sudden become video editor (then should not be in this laptop's thread anyways) or you are AAA gamer on laptop (again you shouldn't be in this thread), new Snapdragon Elite X processors are far better than this.
And yes, they would get discounted once a fewer months old. So, if you don't need one now, you should wait.
And Surface Laptop 7 at $999 is still a steal for what it offers in case you have to have something right now.

Been reading about issues with the Zenbook displays suddenly going bad after some time.
The Q540 is 13th Gen i9-13900H, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD, OLED (2880x1620) with another spare m.2 for another SSD.
In any case, for the price I paid (used), it looks flawless. Already swapped out SSD and added a 32GB DDR5 SODIMM I had lying around. Very nice.
