Don't blame the cashiers for following the restrictions of the coupons. If you think that the rules shouldn't apply to your purchase for some reason, then ask a manager for an override, not someone who could lose their job by bending the rules for you.

I kept a receipt of the first time I tried multiple items. It's CVS receipt long, every item got the 30% off
