Steve Koecher missing since 12/13/09! The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the resolution of the case.

AFAIK there is still nothing new. It is like he vanished into thin air as he was walking down that street in Henderson. His family and friends are still looking for him and wondering and worrying. It has not gotten any easier to deal with for them.

I was thinking about this thread yesterday for some reason. Hopefully he's found safe and sound.

That video of him walking down the street must play through their minds continuously.. It is haunting to think about. I still hope he left on his own accord...It has almost been an entire year since he vanished. The holidays are going to be rough..

I just saw the story on the Today Show. I know the people investigating Steven's dissapearance had already been looking into that connection and it had been dismissed, they couldn't find any connection between the two.

But in the days right before he dissapeared he did make a crazy long road trip up to northern Utah where he did not contact his family at all but instead spent a few hours with the family of an old friend.

I always thought that theory was impossible. Steven's family does have his passport. It just never seemed Steven was the type of person to do something like that, or pull something like that off.

I had no idea that Steven made that trip in the days before he disappeared. His movements were very strange. The problem I have with the theory is that Susan had children and by all accounts - she would have never left them like that. Josh's actions following her disappearance are bizarre. I really think he had something to do with her disappearance. Even Josh's sister says the theory is ridiculous & she has stated she believes that he had something to do with Susan's disappearance.

I think Steven is being used to send the investigation in another direction.

I do still hope that Steven did leave willingly.

LE has said they can't find a link.. and they've done computer forensics on his computer, right? Wouldn't there be some sign of them contacting each other; whether via the computer or telephone? Seems like if they had been secretly dating, like Josh's father alleges - there would be some record.. either cell phone records or computer forensics should have found something... or possibly friends would have known about it?!?

While I wish it was true, because it would mean that Steven and Susan are still alive.. I just really don't think that's the case, but I guess we'll see.

BTW, thank you for that link.. in it, Josh's father says that Susan left journals which detailed her sexual urges or whatever---but that the media, the public and even the police haven't seen the journals.. if the journals are as important as they imply, why wouldn't they hand that off to law enforcement?
