Steve Koecher missing since 12/13/09! The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the resolution of the case.

His car was found abandoned in Henderson, NV at a 55 and over community, it had been there over 4 days.

Residents called the police when the car had been there for so long.

We have a rental house about 2 hours from Henderson & Steve has lived there for about a year.



I hope he is okay! It seems unreal that he is really missing.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding Koecher to contact the St. George Police Department at 627-4300 or the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at (702) 229-2907.

He has been on the news in Vegas and St. George. There are putting his pic on milk cartons sometime soon.

I'm not sure where you all would dig, but you're the pros. Could you all look at craigs list or something and see if there's anything, job wise, that would appeal to Steven in the area of Henderson in the time range of November and the beginning of December? He's a communications major and has worked in the newspaper business. I don't think he would look for further work in window washing. I think that's just something to pay the bills, but anything is possible.

Steve Koecher

The last time the neighbors saw Steve was 10:30 pm Saturday night (12/11/09). John across the street said saw Steve & his car there for about 20 or 30 min and he was gone by 10:30 pm.

Sunday morning (12/13/09) a friend from his church ward called him and ask if he could teach a lesson that day.

Steve answered and said that he was in Vegas but he could come back and teach if they couldn't find any one else.

That was the last time anyone heard from him or saw him.

On Thursday the Henderson police called Steve's parents because his car had been at a 55 and older community, since Sun, abandoned.

His parents filed missing persons on Friday and hired a PI.

Seems like law enforcement could take them if they had a warrant. Sound like the smoke signals are coming from Josh and his family to misdirect the police.

I was so excited to see that this would be aired on Disappeared. If you get ID (Investigation Discovery), it's supposed to be on Monday night. I won't be able to watch, but I'm hoping to catch a rerun at some point. Maybe it'll generate some leads.

Hopefully that is correct. Directv's program guide has a different episode listed. Or maybe they're doing multiple stories because it talks about somebody disappearing from a Metallica concert.

Thanks! I never know when to catch the reruns. I'll have to watch it next Sunday.

That's a rerun. The new ones air on Monday nights. (I don't know about reruns, though, aside from what daniel posted.)

I almost came out of my skin last night, when I saw this commercial. At first, I thought I was wrong.

I actually jumped up and said, "HEY! I know this case!"

I think about this guy all the time. I pray that his family gets him back. If that's not an option, I hope they will get some answers and some peace.

Me too and it is also scary to think it could happen to any one of us.

OT & in other news, we have had a new renter for about a month now and his name is Steve, not Steven, but it makes me think of Steven even more. The new Steve is older than Steven is/was and is divorced with two kids.

I watched the episode last night on the DVR. Pretty crazy.

Nikayla, was most of the stuff they mentioned on the show about him and his roommate true?

Still hoping for a safe return of Steven.

We have it saved on the DVR too. It is crazy because he literally just vanished! He was on that security tape walking down the sidewalk in a 55+ wealthy neighborhood at exactly noon, like he had an appointment, and poof.

It is true the stuff they said about the roommate, he was a the type to drink beer and smoke everyday, he did have a past drug charge. They were complete opposites but seemed to do okay living together. The only thing Steven ever really complained about was that Jordan would eat his food on occasion.

I was surprised to learn at the end of the show that Ralf, Steven's dad had passed away. We had not heard that news yet. Frown

We still hope and pray for the Safe return of Steven as well.

When I heard his dad died it made my heart sink. But then DW reminded me that his dad now knows the truth one way or the other. Hopefully for the rest of his family's sake he turns up one way or the other.

DW asked if you had made it on the show. I didn't think so. I kept waiting for somebody in fuzzy slippers to show up but never did. laugh out loud

For anyone who missed the show Disappeared: Secrets of a Son, it's airing again on Investigation Discovery on April 17 at 6pm and April 25 at 7pm. I believe that's eastern time. If you don't get the ID channel, the episode is available on Amazon for $1.89 or iTunes for $1.99.

Wow. I was unaware that his father died too. That's so sad. I feel awful for his family.

It seems like if Steven had just walked away from everything - he might have read about his father dying via the internet & that might have prompted him to come home.

My heart sank too, I wasn't expecting that news since they had interviews from him throughout the program. Discovery Network did call us and want to interview us the weekend they were filming the exterior of our house but we live about 4 hours from there now. It was not in our plans or budget to travel that weekend. (plus neither one of us want to be on TV) None of the interior shots were of our house, we have other renters in there right now.
