Steve Koecher missing since 12/13/09! The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the resolution of the case.

His car was found abandoned in Henderson, NV at a 55 and over community, it had been there over 4 days.
Residents called the police when the car had been there for so long.
We have a rental house about 2 hours from Henderson & Steve has lived there for about a year.
I hope he is okay! It seems unreal that he is really missing.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding Koecher to contact the St. George Police Department at 627-4300 or the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at (702) 229-2907.
He has been on the news in Vegas and St. George. There are putting his pic on milk cartons sometime soon.

The last time the neighbors saw Steve was 10:30 pm Saturday night (12/11/09). John across the street said saw Steve & his car there for about 20 or 30 min and he was gone by 10:30 pm.
Sunday morning (12/13/09) a friend from his church ward called him and ask if he could teach a lesson that day.
Steve answered and said that he was in Vegas but he could come back and teach if they couldn't find any one else.
That was the last time anyone heard from him or saw him.
On Thursday the Henderson police called Steve's parents because his car had been at a 55 and older community, since Sun, abandoned.
His parents filed missing persons on Friday and hired a PI.

He's a communications major and has worked in the newspaper business. I don't think he would look for further work in window washing. I think that's just something to pay the bills, but anything is possible. |

It is crazy that the case is completely cold. I was hoping for your sake and his family's sake they find him one way or the other. I feel for his dad though - died without knowing for sure what happened. I guess he's with Steven now either way.
You said he was working on a payment plan with your DH. Do you know the deets?
I don't think there was a specific payment plan set to catch up rent, just for him to pay as much as he could as soon as he could. He stopped answering DH calls so we went down to see if he moved out but all his things were there. The roommate however had bailed and that room was locked but empty.

Steven parents aren't buying it. They said that although Steven had recently obtained a passport - the passport was found in a drawer.

I seen Disappeared on ID TV and my heart just went out to this family, I was wondering if they ever thought of using a Psychic to find him? There are plenty of Psychics out there and they should find one who has worked with the Police before asking one for help. It can't hurt and it could help. This could help. I would tell them but I do not know how to contact them. All they would have to do is send the Psychic a picture but do not tell them anything about case it could cloud their judgement.

I don't think the ones who have contacted the family have helped.
I keep hoping Steven's story will make the news again here. Especially since there has been a lot of recent coverage on the Susan Powell case with the arrest of her father in law and her husbands loss of custody of their boys. I don't think one case has anything to do with the other but at one time Susan's husband did claim that Susan and Steven ran off together.

On the FB page people keep speculating that there has to be something they missed in the neighborhood when it first happened. Which was my thoughts too. That there was a suspicious house but the occupants have since moved. I never heard why or what was suspicious though.

A Washington judge has ruled that the children of missing Utah mother Susan Powell must remain in the custody of her parents. The judge further says she won't consider returning the two boys to their father, Josh Powell, until he undergoes a psycho-sexual evaluation.
Powell has been attempting to regain custody.
The children have been living with Chuck and Judy Cox since Josh Powell's father Steven was arrested on child porn and voyeurism charges last fall. On Wednesday, Pierce County Superior Court Judge Kathryn Nelson sided with an assistant attorney general, who urged her to order the evaluation as a safety precaution.
Nelson had noted the "extreme child porn" found in the Puyallup, Wash., home where Josh was living with the two boys and his father after Susan's disappearance. Josh Powell's lawyer Jeffrey Bassett argued against the evaluation, saying no questionable images had been proven to belong to his client.
The judge continued Powell's twice weekly supervised visits with the boys.
Susan Powell vanished in December 2009 at age 28.

He said Powell let the boys in the house, then blocked the social worker from entering. The social worker called her supervisors to report that she could smell gas, and the home exploded.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and discovered the bodies. The home was completely destroyed.
A lawyer for Josh Powell told the Associated Press he received a three-word email from his client just minutes before the explosion. It said, "I'm sorry, goodbye."
