Happy hour discounts even let you pick up instead of forcing you to get it delivered so you save a lot on fees. The Uber prices are very close to the prices in-store so with the discounts it is much cheaper. And Taco Bell lets you schedule your order so as long as you order from 2-5 pm you can pick up whenever.
It gets better if you got the Uber gift cards from Costco as well.

i.e. Cheesy Gordita Crunch, Crunchwrap Supreme, Chalupa Supreme for Main Entree
Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes as an option for side
In the end, most of the time I just end up getting like 3 Cheesy Double Beef Burritos, as it just seems to be the best bang for the buck. I know 3 of those will make me full for under $10.

This is better than the $5 box to me. I got the luxe box today and enjoyed it more than the past $5 box deal.

But Taco Bell, "back in the day" (about when the Chalupa was introduced) was the pinnacle of TB's allure. Most items were $1, Chalupa included (Baja was the best... and long since discontinued). Slowly increased to $2 and I still didn't mind ($1.99 feels right, even now, for mass fast food product of that size with meat filler/etc - don't care, tastes good, was cheap)
Now, a single Chalupa Supreme is $5. The ffffwwwha?
I live in San Diego. I can get a 'real' taco with real meat/toppings for $4 (El Gordo/etc). Some places, $3. How can Taco Bell warrant these prices? At their volume? When they used to be the $69-89c bean burrito late night guilty pleasure (now $1.79). Min Wage fiasco aside, $5 for a Chalupa is exactly how they lost me as a customer. Let's not even discuss the Chicken Quesadilla....
My LDL thanks them though.
My weekend after party carb soak-ups, does not.
Good thing I've got plenty of ****bertos shops around.
