There is a YMMV Amex offer that gives $15 back if you spend $50. Could work here if you spend more for upgrades more than one pair.

This would be important if glasses in brick & mortar stores didn't cost $400.

Didn't work for me.

Also, the science supporting blue light blocking is extremely thin.

That makes sense. I just got a pair of progressives with EyeQLenz a week ago. They sometimes project a pale red light onto my cheeks which is less than optimal. I only see it when looking in a mirror with overhead lighting.

I've only gotten Blockz once, and that pair was really just for testing my new prescription, so not much to compare.

I usually get Trivex or Polycarbonate for impact resistance, so none of these higher index lenses.

My two pair of photochromic lenses have worked well, but they don't get especially dark. I still have sunglasses for when I'm going out in the sun, but for day-to-day use, going inside and out, they are great to have.
I also got a pair of progressive glasses 2 months ago from Zenni with the EyeQLenz. The cost of the lens alone was $69.95. This time the similar Blokz lens was only $19.99. Thanks OP.

Will be interesting to see which pair of glasses gets darker in the sun. For those who have never tried these photochromic lenses, they don't work in a car as most car windows block the UV rays. If this might be an issue for you, just get clip-on sunglasses.

No bifocal deal on these lenses? I always buy from Zenni, but need bifocals.

If you don't have a specific reader prescription, you can use a progressive Rx and just add your "near vision add" amount to the first value on the prescription, the SPH, or spherical.

For computers, add about half of your ADD value to the SPH.

You could even make Mid-Range progressives by adding half your ADD value to the script and changing the ADD to half the regular value.
I had my eye doctor write prescriptions for 3 types: Distance + reading bifocals, Computer + reading bifocals, and plain reading. (I'm 60).

Also, I can get away with cheap reading glasses (2.0 for me) from Amazon, like 5 pairs for $10, and keep them everywhere, though I do have some prescription readers (from Zenni): For me, there is only a slight difference between prescription and generic readers, though that varies greatly by person, of course.

You can get progressives in standard ($19.99) or premium ($24.99) in the 1.61.

Use a progressive prescription and choose either Standard or Premium progressive lenses. Then, choose Blokz lenses and then Blokz Photochromic.

I tried progressive once, and hated them. Bifocals work great for me.

Progressives take some getting used to. I've worn them for 36 years so I'm fine with them.

I've always thought about trying out a pair of bifocal sunglasses. I'd use them mainly when driving. Would that work?

My question was.. Does the website need a valid prescription? I know I dont but most eye places need a valid (Dr Signature within 2 yrs) script.
No it doesn't. Mine expired 3 months ago. They never asked for optometrist.

I hated first too. Felt nauseous. Optometrist stepped down the add on portion of the prescription and I got use to it. Once you get use to it they can slowly add in more.

Also for those getting progressives, it should come out to around $25 for the lense and no charge for AR if you do it right. When you first are asked about the lens, select progressive, then premium progressive (they will quote you something like over $50). Then you will choose photochromic, then blokz photochromic 1.61, then free water resistant ar. The price should come down to around $24.xx. That's an absolute steal.

Poor quality lenses, they get scratched soon and anti reflective coating is worst. I would pay for better quality lens and frame then buying online. You get what you pay for
Their lenses were never a problem for me. It was the super cheap frames that keep peeling or breaking.

Either way still affordable enough to grab a few pairs. Better than losing the $200-300 designer frames I had.
