How does this compare to the $300 Hamilton Beach freezer they have in store?

How so? Would appreciate your reasoning.

I'm looking to purchase one of these two models, but the 52% recommendation rating on the Frigidaire is throwing me off.

Well first, the model you are looking at is not garage ready as already stated. No clue where that rating is, but it's a phenomenal freezer. Frigidaire is as solid as if comes for a stand up freezer.

Garage ready alone is the deal breaker period.

Thanks, OOS though. Ending up finding the GE 21.3CF (also garage ready) for the same price, went with that one.

We purchased the 20 c.f. Maytag at this price last year. It has not given us any problems in the garage (southwest Ohio, where it rarely gets stupidly cold in winter), and the freezer stays between -5 and -10 on the coldest setting year round (my YoLink temperature sensor reports a slight "spike" every 2 hours) unless you leave the door open for several minutes to rearrange things. We have not lost any food to freezer burning or anything else yet.

Costco setup and delivery left something to be desired (they only wheeled it from the truck to the garage and refused to take it off the skid, much less unwrap it and plug it in), but that's the only "complaint" I have about the purchase so far.

Perfect! Thank you so much. That makes way more sense than this Frigidaire. I'll either be going with the one you linked or this one [homedepot.com]. Just need to decide if the alarm and handle are worth the $178 premium.

I guess that depends on how often you'd be using it/checking on it for the alarm feature, I bought some cheap fridge/freezer thermometers off Amazon to keep an eye on my aging fridge and newer freezer, I use the fridge daily and the freezer several times a week so at a glance when I open the door I can see the temps, if they get out of range I would know right away.
