This is definitely a great value because it's free!
That being said, I have one month left on mine and I think I've used it once in the past 2-3 weeks.
Their coffee is really, really bad!
I know I can't really complain when something is free but I've gotten to where I'd rather pay for coffee that I actually enjoy drinking somewhere else.

Multiple people died drinking their product. By your logic nothing is a business's fault.
They were being hyperbolic in pointing out that all sorts of food-related deaths can occur.

Panera named it "Charged Lemonade" and listed the caffiene content on a sign on the dispenser. The person who died had known cardiac problems and was supposed to avoid caffiene entirely. Their death is a tragedy, but saying that Panera caused it is a bit of a stretch.

On the deal topic, my location has decent coffee, but is not close enough for lunch. The question is: Do I want to getup early to be there at 6am so I can have a cup before work?

I did these free trials since they started the sip club. so many throw away emails used and having to cancel and yada yada. now, i just keep a large Panera cup and walk up in there and take my soda and leave. who needs a free trial. the sip club ain't even worth it tho. if you're a coffee drinker like me, 99% of the time their ice coffee is DISGUSTING. it took me forever to pinpoint what this weird ass taste was id get in the iced coffee randomly... one day I tried the black iced tea and was like oh, that's the taste. these morons are mixing the ice tea and ice coffee.

but for real just keep a cup and nobody is gonna say shit to you. they don't even put the cup up for you. they expect you to DIY so I DIY and bounce with the same cup for a long time now. 6+ months ago. the employees dgaf, why hassle yourself with free trials
TL: DR YMMV on who does care. I won't play your game as my stress level isn't worth it.
------------------------------
YMMV on employees that GAF. I was approached by a lady at a McDonald's for returning from the parking lot half an hour after leaving (I was checking emails and stuff on my phone) to get another refill for the road. I had been in the lobby reading the paper and getting refills. Then went out to the car to be more comfortable while checking my emails etc..

HER: "You know that's stealing, right?"
Me: Okay,I will pay for this one.

She loved her job watching out for soda theft while maintaining the lobby. She had been out there while I was first in the lobby for 15 minutes.

At pennies a serving, you would think it would not be a felony to steal a soda.

McDonald's has recently had people arrested on felony charges for filling their water cups with soda, which is blatant theft. Similar to what you are doing. ie Not paying at all for months after your sip club expired. I have done what you did with my own or their cups, but only while being a current active member. Only when they were too busy to ring me up or if the app was down and they did not have kiosks.

But I could easily put in the official order if questioned. It is skeezy enough to make a new account here and there, but all these shades of gray are different for everyone. I am pretty sure they don't intend the ease of these deals for past members since it states for new members only. So I am not saying I am any holier than though. just less likely to have any problems with any employees who might really get off on policing us.

Take my experience to heart or not. Best of luck to you. I am not here to judge.

Also, they have a time requirement of every 2 hours. You cannot reorder one before that time has elapsed with the same account.

Had the free trial in the past and even then it's not worth the aggravation. Ordering ahead is useless because they don't put the cup out for you or make the drink. It's also out of the way to go to the one Panera bread in town that's generally out of the way. Would rather just spend the $2 at a gas station for iced coffee or fountain drink.
I bring my own insulated big tumbler/cup because it is better for everyone anyway. Including the environment. They even have "Bring your own cup" campaigns now and then. Never once been questioned. I only get their cup if I forget mine.

My trial period ends 9/15....can this be added on?
No....and why? You can rejoin later (after your trial period ends). This has been an ongoing promo for months now. Of course, they always have the right to sunset it, but it wouldn't be an ongoing, month-to-month promo if it wasn't a success. The only glitch might be if there's a waiting period between free memberships or a limit of one....but it's easy enough to set up an entirely new account, isn't it? I haven't done this....but it seems fairly academic, doesn't it? Otherwise, do you want two free cups of whatever? Are you planning upon wearing a disguise for the 2nd cup, perhaps? Will you go to another location, perhaps? Is any of this really worth the effort?

so no answer on how to create a new Gmail account without a phone number?
Check your PMs.

I do not know how you could circumvent that requirement for free.

But if you really need or want a brand new gmail address for other reasons:
I have used the Burner app (not free), which gets you a phone number that will ring to your phone.
Or open a new line with a carrier of your choice, and you could either get a new phone for it or a line you can swap sim cards or e-sims in and/or out of your phone. I like Redpocket for a backup phone which you can get for $30 per year on eBay [ebay.com].

I basically agree with you and wouldn't have the cojones to play the "I'll bring my own cup and FU" game! That's pathetic!
However, the response that this moronic soda police woman would've received from me is, NO, it isn't "stealing" because I was still on the premises! Instead of walking away with YOUR tail between YOUR legs, she would be walking away with HER tail between HER legs (because she's full of crap)!
Additionally, where are you getting this nonsense about it being a "felony" to steal a few ounces of soda?? I'm not defending doing so, but, at worst, it's a misdemeanor and would go into the "least likely to prosecute" file! "Blatent theft" isn't automatically a "felony". That's just more nonsense that they perhaps made up just to intimidate the lowlifes that do that sort of thing on a daily basis!

That "bring your own cup" idea is crazzzy!! Especially since you're serving yourself! That leaves them wide open for theft!....but not to worry, folks! Their insanity will have them raising prices to compensate for the losses! Then everyone suffers as a result of these lowlifes! Starbucks has a similar policy....but the customers aren't preparing their own drinks, so either they pay or no way!

I would drink their iced coffee more if they had heavy cream, not just half-and-half. It doesn't stand up well to the half and half.
That's only because it's crappy coffee!

I understand the google trick.....this will extend my existing another 90 days?
Nothing "extends" anything at Panera. It has to be a new account. It's either concurrent or after yours expires. Get it?

yikes!!
