If you don't need WiFi connectivity, this is a great air purifier. Quiet, energy efficient, and reasonably priced filters available.

I just bought the c545 from Costco and my guess is they're very similar. The c545 is $25 more but you get an extra HEPA filter so I went with that one. It also has WiFi, but it's kinda unnecessary.

The C545 has wifi (though some reviewers have had trouble connecting) while the C535 has a 50% larger filter. If you don't need the wifi connection, the larger filter of the C535 should last longer or be as effective at lower fan speeds. Also, one less thing to break. I opted for the C535.

i have two purifiers. i bought the coway as my second purifier for my bedroom/office instead of the winix 5300 a second time due to the fact that for the coway you could turn the light off without switching to a lower filter setting which my allergies definitely do not want. the winix light is quite bright, but you have to switch to lower setting so it will go out. the winix is better.

i've accidentally had one or the other switched off individually when dealing with power strips and i noticed my allergies were worse by the end of day 2 with the winix off and the coway on. however, with the coway off and the winix on i hardly noticed at all as the winix was still chugging along doing the work for both. i live in a 650 sq ft 1-1 apartment. allergies are extremely bad here. every friend i've recommended a winix to has said it was lifechanging. i have allergies so bad i had allergy shots. unfortunately they wear off after 10 years and/or you need new shots when you move which i did. i realized after having the winix on for a week my allergies were so much better that i could hear better. apparently blockages were affecting my hearing.

I think I'm going to go with two of these units and not go to Costco as I think the larger filters are going to be better. I did like the idea of two extra filters but 50% difference is crazy.

Ultimately I have a rancher almost open concept to the bedrooms being the only doors covering about 1,300 square feet relatively small. The way I see it two of these should do the job nicely for the entire layout

are you sure these filters are 50% larger on the c535 because The recent deal for the filter size seems like they're very similar?

Box size is not the same as filter size. It is difficult to find the actual filter dimensions so I had estimated 50%. Just now found actual numbers for the carbon filters which are the same size as the HEPA filters except for thickness. It is actually closer to 40%, but still substantial.

C545: 11" wide x 13.1" long x 0.2" thick" [breathenaturally.com]
C535: 12.5" wide x 16.25" long x 0.2" thick" [breathenaturally.com]

I am looking at these 2 units also. The web site states c535 is 3 stage and c545 is 4 stage. Does anyone know the difference?

Both C535 and C545 have a pre-filter, but oddly the C535 does not include it in the count. If you look at the maintenance section in the user manuals of both, you'll see the exact same filter stack up: pre-filter, carbon filter, HEPA filter, PlasmaWave.
