I'm 77 & have no idea how to do that. The Lenovo Outlet deal was posted on SD yesterday, and it may still be valid. The laptop I purchased sold out, Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 6 w/ 16GB RAM & 512 SSD, backlit board, fingerprint reader & Ryzen 7 7730U (I believe that's correct). With tax, it was $473. There may still be deals there w/ 20% code. Hope this helps you.

It's not about Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7.

AMD 8000 series is basically identical to 7000 series mobile save the for AI NPU. The most important number in a AMD mobile CPU is the third digit. 7X40 and 8X40 are the only ones worth buying if you are paying more than $300-400. As the 4 indicates Zen 4 architecture.

For the 7000 and 8000 generation, all the Ryzen 7 come with 780m iGPU which is theoretically 50% faster than 760m iGPU on the Ryzen 5. Note that some Ryzen 5 starting wtih 754X and 854X come with 740m which is only 1/3 as powerul as the 780m.

It says "512 GB PCIe® Gen4 NVMe™ M.2 SSD" on the specs shared above.

3.08 pounds is considered fat these days?
No lol, 3lbs is great, especially these specs at this price. We still live in a world with 5lbs+ laptops. Even the LG Gram is still like 2.5lbs~

Envy x360 is notorious for failed hinges ... srsly.. just go youtube "Envy x360 hinge" watch a few videos... and save yourself $500
That's sad to hear. The whole selling point is the hinge on this and they've made it for years. How did they manage to mess it up?!

Seems like great price but see. https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Not...-p/8360940

So many of these 2 in 1 seem 2 have similar hinge problems regardless of make. I had Lenovo Yoga with cracked screen due 2 hinge attachment design. Several class action lawsuits vs. several companies.
I have had a earlier model x360 for over a year with a bunch of traveling. The hinge issue is overrated, unless you are constantly using it. They do wear out but usually obsolescence gets them first.

I've never had a hinge problem and I've owned 3 Ryzen HP Envys over the years. Never had a single issue with these metal body 2 in 1s. Then again I'm not a clumsass never having dropped mine.

Couple of questions.
1. Are the RAM and hard disk upgradable. Any info please?

2. Can we wait for July 4th sale for more deals/options? Probably from Costco with better warranty? This looks like good price for the specs.

Debating about returning a Chromebook Plus I just purchased. Anyone have experience on how the battery life is on this? I'm sure it won't be as good as a Chromebook but would be great if it was over 6 hours.

I picked up yesterday.

So far:

Pros:
-AMD Ryzen 5 is snappy, this is my first AMD since Zen2
-I like form factor
-Feels solid
-Keyboard and backlight

Cons:
-Screen is bad, colors are flat, not vibrant at all
-USB C are only 3.1
-HP software, I didn't find any shortcut to change mode from balance to power saving (like in Lenovo fn+q) - feels like blotware..

I've owned 5 HP 2-in-1s since 2015 and have never had any issues with the hinge. I love these laptops with the value you get for your dollar esp. with HP's 3yr extended warranties that are refundable at the end if you don't end up using it. Just my two cents 🤷 ♂️

How is the screen quality? if it covers 99% of sRGB it ticks that box. Then about build quality. Envy is better than Pavillion but not as good as their enterprise laptops. If that is acceptable this is a great deal as it ticks all boxes.

Turn up the saturation in the control panel and you'll be a lot happier with the colors, even if they might be a little less accurate. IDK why this isn't the default on <72% NTSC screens.

Hard disagree. Have owned around 6 HP x360 machines in my family, made over the last 5 years, never had a hinge issue. Maybe there was a bad batch that prisoned the well at some point but it's far from widespread. If you look used (which is where most of mine came from) hinge issues are rare. What I have personally seen on two recent models is partially failing keyboards though (keys still work, but become less tactile).
