A good price on a fantastic covered stainless-clad skillet, especially at this $100 range.

It's usually lower than this after coupon at the All-Clad Factory 2nds Sale, which comes around roughly every 6 weeks. The seconds are quite reliable. If you have time to wait for that sale, set a Deal Alert. It's a frontpage deal every time.

One caveat with SS.. it is very difficult (and honestly not worth the effort) to fry things that non-stick can do better, like eggs. Definitely keep a non-stick around and don't go throwing them all out!

I got this same pan during a *seconds" sale for $85 before tax, and I Can't for the life of me figure out why it's a second, it's absolutely perfect and blemish free, it's even polished to a mirror shine, I must've got really lucky.

The 10" is also $99 on Amazon. Is that considered a good deal for non-2nds?

I am somewhat famIliar with this brand. Seen it in Macy's ads.

I am not Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen. Just a simple guy cooking simple things. My non stick pan is wearing out so this deal comes at a good time. Please help me understand why should I jump on this deal? I don't know much about kitchen pots and pans. Thanks !!

It's a very nice pan with a lid, great shape for cooking too. You can get perfectly good pans for much cheaper, but if you want a beautifully crafted stainless steel pan that will last many many times longer than a nonstick, this is a good deal.

Thank you for your words. I will purchase this as it will be my very first all clad brand pan. I've been reading up on its care and usage. I will need to change some current habits 😛

This is a great pan as long as you know there is a learning curve when cooking in stainless steel vs non-stick. I rarely use the included lid and use a glass lid from another pot instead since I like seeing what I'm cooking.

At this price, I'd expect rivetless cookware. And All-clad handles are very uncomfortable

Is there a reason I would want this over my cast iron pans?

It's pretty much the top tier with a famous name price. It's quite overkill for someone who isn't collecting an entire kitchen to make a cooking show for TV. Restaurant quality pans last forever too. I usually pay $40 or less a piece. More like $15-$20. Hell I went on a rampage the other night an was smashing everything with my 2 pans (I picked up restaurant quality stainless at the thrift store about 10x each brand new) ; an I barely dented the inside of one lid an the glass didn't even break either.

An this 3 clad term they use isn't new. Just their word for it.

Also be careful with your first quality purchase. You wanna make sure you get a piece that has a handle that doesn't conduct the heat from the pan. Usually that means bolt on; but apparently that isn't a given. An you don't throw it under water right away to cause extreme temperature changes or over cook anything in it because it'll wreck the "3 clad" and you'll notice it loses its superpower to heat up instantly the first time. An it's gonna heat pretty quickly so you don't walk away from these while waiting for them to heat up or boil

If you're a Costco member, I just bought the Calphalon Premier 12-Piece stainless steel cookware set and it's been working great. It was on sale for $160, but it's $200 full price. We moved away from all non-stick type cookware and we've been happy so far. I too am a normal guy doing normal things in the kitchen so didn't see the need to go high-end.

FYI, I had an option to clip a $19.99 coupon on my account! Not sure if this will show up for everyone.
