Yes, you can move the reel handle on either side. But my dominant hand is right and I keep the reel handle to the left, because I can get more precise casting with my right hand so I hold the rod with my right hand. Moreover by holding rod with my dominant hand I can handle bigger fish better and leave the reeling job to my less dominant hand which is my left hand.

Having a hard time finding the difference between the 6620, 7030, 7040.
They all say 7 ft with the 7040 being medium and 7030/6620 being medium light action.

Is it safe to assume the 7040 should be a 7 ft with 4000 size reel, 7030 a 7 ft with 3000 size reel, and 6620 a 6ft6in with 2000 size reel?

That was my assumption too just looking at the model numbers.

Yes, saltwater reels can be used freshwater saltwater anywhere, freshwater reels need some extra care if used in saltwater. For ponds, a 3000 reel would be more than enough.

This might be a dumb question but is this only for left handed people as reel mechanism is on left side.

You can remove the reel handle and move it to the other side

I'm the odd one, I'm right handed, but have to reel with my right otherwise it feels off. Just the same as I throw a football or baseball with my dominant hand and wear a glove on my left.

There is no right or wrong way. It is whatever you are comfortable with. I started with keeping the reel handle to the right but then I had to hold the rod and cast with my left hand and lures and baits were all over the places. Then figured I can cast with my right hand like I would throw a ball and reeling job is not that difficult with my left hand. I know people who would cast with right hand and then move the rod to the left hand and reel with their right hand. Felt like too much work so I keep it simple.

I am in the market for a 2 piece rod. 1 piece rods are hard to transport.
