Port your main number to Google Voice. Then you can take advantage of every phone deal without losing your main number.

Then you go to renew a plan it's at a much higher rate

As a counter to this, if you do any amount of texting, don't do this. The google voice app is pretty ass and you can't use RCS with it. Also some apps will not let you use 2FA with it (chatgpt and lots of dating apps). It's def not worth the inconvenience of not having two numbers on your phone (asking google assistant to send a text and it sends from the wrong number) and dealing with google voice

Any feedback on international calling ? ( excluding CAN /MEX)
No international calling. It worked the first day when I activated the sim, maybe there was a glitch or something. I spoke for full hour but the following day it stopped working and never worked again

after 1 year will it be regular price?
Probably so. These are new customer promotions. I bought a promotional 6 mo. 5GB plan in May for $20 total (not per mo.) because the kids' plans needed renewal. So far it's worked fine. That will take us to Black Friday so I'm hoping for some other good offers then, and will switch if necessary.

I tried to order and received order failed on checkout screen with two different credit cards. Anyone else getting this failed checkout error?

FYI...

I was a huge advocate of the method which you proposed since 2015, and I have been none the wiser to any downsides...until just this past week. I started having random text messages bounce back saying ""Message not delivered. See Acceptable Use Policy" I have no clue what I did to trigger it, but I couldnt send texts to random people who I have been messaging regularly for a long time.

The forums, reddit...no one had an answer. If you go to google voice forums, there is this one REALLY snarky moderator who basically embodies the "If you dont like it, get out" mentality. I ended up having to use a DIFFERENT GV number to send texts to these people from last Thursday onwards.

*Finally*I was able to change random words in my text to one friend to get it to send. There are some trigger words which make the system think that I am sending spam. It might be the word "students." Maybe it thinks that I am sending a business text??

Regardless, I have been panicking since last week and thinking about whether to keep my phone number on GV after a 9+ year run.

I did this exact thing, but I'm switching back because GV is VOIP and doesn't get the same priority that cellular minutes and SMS get. Also a lot of banks and PayPal require you to have a non-GV number as your phone number for verification texts, so be prepared to have to change that with companies every time you switch.

I'm going to go with the dual SIM approach, one for voice and one for data. Heard about it on here as well, and it seems like the more reliable option, albeit $5-7 extra a month for the voice line.

Red alert: 🚨 bought this last night, eSIM activation was supposed to be immediate last night at midnight. Yet, it still is not activated and now they are saying it will be 48 hours. No one answers phone, chat is super bad English (guessing it's low budget India based call center here). Thinking I'm going to need to file dispute with AMEX. Super sketch - will update
Worked fine for porting in 2 boost lines 2 weeks ago-sim to eSIM and everything

If I buy it as a physical sim card can I activate it later on any phone? Also can I port my number instead of getting a new one?
Yup and yup
Once you're ported, there's a eSIM generator

Same. CSR says to wait a few hours.

It works with my 4-year-old Oneplus 8. It supports 5G and I remember this vividly because I was on US Mobile 100 days free trial and used their WARP network but on Infimobile it works only with 4G. I do not have any problems yet and in my area, I am getting 100+Mbps speeds on 4G.
So if your phone is Verizon 4G compatible, it should work just fine. 4G is still plenty fast on Verizon
OnePlus 8 only supports a single 5g Verizon band that is rarely used. I upgraded from an 8 to a OnePlus 12r and get 5g (low/mid band) on infimobile just fine. The lack of 5g your seeing is the lack of modern 5g bands on your OnePlus 8 (low band only, which Verizon hardly uses).
