Because it's an ongoing issue that when a year or two passes, you are stuck with a computer that can't be upgraded. Also, this is a workstation. We use a minimum of 64GB of RAM in our workstation laptops. 32GB is plenty for most consumer use, but not for many other needs. Thanks for asking, and no, I'm not a bot. Beep boop.

Our designers AutoCAD computers come with i9 and 64GB. When they we're running systems with 32GB, you could feel the lag when working with complex models

Soldered RAM or upgradeable? Don't see it mentioned in Lenovo's description

Is this eGPU compatible? If it is it's exactly what I'm looking for. A laptop with a good processor and fairly capable integrated graphics, upgradeable RAM and capable of pushing better gaming performance with an eGPU.

Super machine! Nice specs, and from all the notebook computers I've maintained, the ThinkPad has been the most dependable.

No one needs 64gb of ram. It's pure vanity at that point

Huge data sets. Run into slowdowns at least a couple times a month with the work I do on a 64GB machine
