Based on the lack of empathy and knowledge displayed in this comment, I can only assume that you were a terrible physical therapist. As people age, they face limitations in mobility and capability that may not be helped by physical therapy. My father in law had a condition that caused him to slowly lose weight and strength over several years. At a certain point, it was clear that physical therapy was actually speeding this process because he couldn't consume enough calories to add weight or muscle. I also have a good friend with ALS. These types of assistive devices can let people stay in their homes for additional years with much less aid than otherwise possible. Here's hoping the "used to" in your comment means you've taken your ignorance to a different career.

Good price but faux leather, probably won't last you more than 5 years

Two right eyes, missing left eye, mismatched ears. What's the point of photoshopping in a mutant cat.

Faux leather is a good option for those who don't like animal products, no wonder it's being used everywhere.

Agree on lack of durability compared to real leather but if you want a recliner lasting a lifetime, might want to get a costlier one. If this one works 5-10 good years, it has paid for itself at 400.
Hoping it would be a good purchase. Ease of assembly/ disassembly in their video won me over.

Cause it's not faux leather unless you count microsuede as faux leather?

Sorry to go dark, but this probably aligns well with the target market's expect span of usage.

For some people getting this, 5-10 years quite possibly will be "a lifetime". . . 😐

As a physical therapist I used to absolutely loathe these chairs more than anything. If you have so much trouble getting up that you need one of these, you don't need one of these. You need to work on strengthening your legs. They will create more unnecessary disability for many that rely on them
