If you find Deet has very limited success for you, I suggest Googling permethrin. You can buy premixed sprays or buy the concentrate like I do and dilute your own. Martin's sells a 10% non-petroleum based you can dilute with water. You spray your clothing beforehand and allow to dry before wearing. Insect neurotoxin. It always works.

Deep woods is the tried and true insect repellent. Nothing is proven to keep insects away as well as deet does, and deep woods has plenty of it.

I prefer the Sawyer Picaridin lotion, but can't pass up this deal on the Clear Gel

I've been using Picaridin lotion the last two years and I like how it works. However, I've only used it on exposed skin. This last may I found a tick on my belly after a hike. I'm going to keep using pic lotion on exposed skin but I'm glad this deal came up as I want to also have a spray to cover my clothes and hair for full protection.

not seeing $2 off, but 40% off with S&S discount is good.

nvm, i ended up s&s 3.8oz clear gel came to $3.02 w/tax.

See the other comment about Permethrin.. you spray your clothes (whatever you want to spray e.g. Shoes, Socks, etc.. even Tents & backpacks) let dry... then you're good for 6wks or 6 washes. This is the yellow bottle; for the clothes. The blue bottle is the Permethrin Picaridin for skin. The Permethrin is safe for dogs & can actually spray their tail / legs if needed, but it's toxic when wet for cats.
