I own the Q990D, and while it's amazing, it's main feature is 120 Hz. The sound quality is basically identical.

I am scared of some comments saying this is standard price and it may drop to $500 checking SD history lowest I see is $614 - unable to replicate the $50 off app deal

The 990 never went below 600 by it self ( 550 bundeled with tv). The lowest it reached was 613 for a couple of days. The 50 of 500 offer is only for the 1st purchase through the app.

Honest review. All speakers are good and loud, but forget about the sub. Q Symphony with the TV speaker is a gimmick; it won't give you any changes. The center speaker is large enough and good enough; you just need to tweak some of the settings where you increase or maximize the rear and top speakers. Upfiring sounds are barely recognizable. Again, the drawback here is the sub. My small Vizio sub could easily outperform this massive Samsung subwoofer, which is very anemic, like it's about to die of anemia.

Don't need for my personal use, but received a $300 Samsung Credit from ordering a Monitor G80SD, wondering if this might be something that would be worth using the credit for in case I move to a bigger place... I have to use the credit by October and not sure what else I would buy
