If you haven't ordered through the Samsung store app before then login there and add to cart. You may get an additional $50 discount. Once it's added to cart from the app, you can check out from PC to take advantage of CB offers elsewhere.

I own the Q990D, and while it's amazing, it's main feature is 120 Hz. The sound quality is basically identical.

Honest review. All speakers are good and loud, but forget about the sub. Q Symphony with the TV speaker is a gimmick; it won't give you any changes. The center speaker is large enough and good enough; you just need to tweak some of the settings where you increase or maximize the rear and top speakers. Upfiring sounds are barely recognizable. Again, the drawback here is the sub. My small Vizio sub could easily outperform this massive Samsung subwoofer, which is very anemic, like it's about to die of anemia.
Did you adjust the subwoofer level in the hamburger menu within SmartThings? Did you try moving it to various areas in your room? I have ours behind our sofa pointed at a wall (soundhole towards the corner of the room) and it's room-shaking loud. I also came from a Vizio and while the subwoofer was more bass-y, it was all the time bass, where as this system, along with the speakers, is meant to be more "crisp" and not overdo the bass. The speakers are large enough to produce the "normal" bass it needs.

I don't fully understand the pass through. I have a 120hz 4k TV. Using this would limit the TV to 60hz due to HDMI 2.0?

If you want to connect all your peripherals into the soundbar, like a PS5, and then run a single eArc HDMI to your TV, you won't get 4k 120hz with the Q990c. You'd have to get the Q990d. I just have everything going to my tv, and the soundbar into eArc. The benefits of going into the soundbar is less potential audio lag, and some audio quality (I think?). I don't have any audio lag, works fine.

just got this. does anyone notice a crackling noise when running dolby atmos?
First one I purchased did that. Returned it and the replacement resolved the issue but the subwoofer wouldn't stay connected on the new one. In the process of returning for a third one, hopefully it will be issue free.

Been there done that. I even ask for a replacement just to be sure that its working i have 3x samsung subwoofer. Back of the couch front everything probably its a preference but as ive said my small little tiny vizio could outperform this way way better

I have both the tiny little Vizio and this Q990C. The Q990C subwoofer blows the Vizio subwoofer away. Try more positions or return as defective. The Vizio subwoofer is not even in the same class.

This doesn't describe the performance of my sub whatsoever. I have mine hidden in the corner of my room and dialed back. I have quite a bit of gain left over. If I wanted to get to the point of obnoxious bass I could get there. Regarding Q-Symphony my complaint is that you lose the system graphic EQ when you switch it on. You are stuck with bass and treble only. I don't understand this restriction.

I understand. I meant if u can find some kid. Check some neighbor whose kid is in college or some neice or nephew. U just need an email to create a samsung account. They don't have to place an order for u.

I have Samsung account established with .edu email address a while ago. I can login and see the edu price. My edu email no longer exist in that domain. got removed sometime last year. University is removing the older email addresses. I cannot access that email account. Any issues with that if I order an item?

If you want 4k 120hz content, you would have to go Apple > TV, soundbar > TV (arc/eArc)
